Ken, Yes, the Vartarg for some reason seems a bit tricky. I also stuck my first case in 36 years doing the Vartarg. However, mine was in a Redding body die, so I could tap it out from the top. If you can't get your die apart, you may have to drill and tap the case head. Speaking of which, if you hav...

Rick, Absolutely gorgeous brother! I didn't realize Leupold was celebrating 100 years either. As for a guess on the front wheel, 7K. Can't wait for the magazines to hit the stands. Thanks for sharing this, especially tonight. We are in the middle of one of the worst blizzards I've seen since moving ...

This tool is certainly not for everyone, but if you appreciate precision equipment and tight tolerances to produce the best possible, most accurate ammunition, then it's for you. If "okay" is good enough, the Lee or RCBS would be completely adequate. No flame on the other tools, a Honda o...

I also use the RCBS without problem. Since all my high volume loading is for .20 calibers, I don't even change out the #10 shellholder. I may be mistaken, but when I looked at Sinclair's tool, I thought it was a "one at a time" tool. If that's the case, it's not for me. Way to much ammo to...

There is a lot of good guys on this site with a lot of good info but with that being said I sure get tired of the "the 204 is not a good cal. for coyotes" talk. I'm just not sure where that talk comes from. Lyn, Unfortunately, the talk comes from people who have not found this site, and h...

Sounds good, I'll give you a call one way or other toward the weekend.
BTW, the Lilja barrel finally came for the other .20 I'm building. I'm going to drop it off at Weaver's on Wednesday.

Bad Dad, Just saw this post after seeing your reference to it in the other thread. Sounds like your having some excitement! I too, had one stalking me a few years back while turkey hunting, not far from the Platte Springs area I took you in. Met face to face at about forty yards on the big powerline...

bound to happen

I've been waiting on this one. Saw on another forum, the question, is the .204 good enough for mountain lion? If you gotta ask, it probably isn't. Sure it will kill one, same as a .22 rimfire will knock off a deer. I wouldn't use it. I'll say it again, the .204 has no equal on 'chucks, pdogs, bobcat...

Another vote for Leupold. I have just ordered my 5th VX II 6-18X 40 AOT since March. It is going on the Vartarg, and will be the 17th Leupold I've purchased.

Rick,

No flame taken, in fact it's very good advice.

With the Mapp's gas, when the neck area starts to turn pinkish/red I drop the case into a bucket of ice water. I can hold the case bare handed, as this gas does the job much quicker than propane. I do mine in a darkened room so I can see the color change. As Rick said, you don't want to go below the...

I use Mapp's gas and tip. Very similiar to the little propane torches, but Mapp's gas burns hotter, and does the job quickly. Do not use a propane torch tip with Mapp's. It requires a different tip. The price that Todd gave you, suggests to me, he may be using Mapp's also.
