You're welcome Keith...I figure if it is good enough for Mr. Jewell, it's good enough for me. :)

Re: Best way to clean trigger........?

I flush mine with lighter fluid periodically, and I do not lube them.

Re: Off Topic, no killin' or shootin' involved

Thanks for the tips. Fortunately, I live dead center of Colorado, and ride 50 miles one way at 0500 to work. Almost daily, elk and mule deer have to be avoided, so I'm used to emergency tactics. Here is home to many speed goats also. We would have liked a couple more days, but archery elk season ope...

Looks great Glenn! A couple of us are heading up there on Harley's....leaving August 19th. We are going in the east entrance over to Gardiner where we will stay at a B&B. From there we will ride south thru the Park and the Tetons, and will spend a night in Jackson Hole before heading back to Col...

Re: Ballistic software - whats good?

For external ballistics such as you seek, I use Ken Oehler's "Ballistic Explorer". It does what you are asking. You can set up three different "traces" to compare them side by side at one time.

For internal ballistics, I use Quickload.

And you do this test on your rifles from four feet?

Heck, of all my bench rifles, most don't have a safety.

Re: 50gr Berger Testing

Using QuickLoad and the info you supplied, all three of your max loads appear to be safe pressure wise. Looks like you did your homework well!

FWIW, I use the 50 grain Bergers in a ten twist 20PPC. They are pushed by Varget and it shoots incredibly well.

Re: Chronographing

If you just subtract 1 foot a second for every foot your chrono is from the muzzle, you will be very close to actual muzzle velocity. In other words, unless you are putting your chrono waaaay down range, it ain't enough to worry about. As far as the velocity of the first shot being way off, it is my...

Good stuff Skipper.

I'm curious why you put the cases in the tumbler after depriming instead of before though? No worries of media in primer flash holes that way. If it is to remove lube after sizing, I find it easier and faster just to wipe with a cleaning rag.

Divide the inch lbs. by 12 to obtain foot lbs. But your foot pound wrench ain't gonna go that low, so your gonna need one of those fancy inch pound wrenches. :o

Hawkeye, well we have one huge thing in common. I'm also using a RCBS JR. press, purchased in 1970!!!!
I'm also a CAD designer for toolmakers.

Great shooting my friend.

Re: I'll start...Factory custom class

LOL, yeah it helps to be not out of breath. I say this because at 52, I'm about the youngest shooter at our bi-monthly matches. Several shooters are in their late 70's, and two are in their 80's and carry oxygen bottles. Most can still whoop me too. Two of the fellows have been competing against eac...
