Re: ladder test-visibility question
Thanks for the replies. I am familiar with OCW load development but this trip I was trying to see what the velocity and pressure ranges were for 2 powders with the same bullet weight. I am not after top velocity but I have tried 'recommended' powders in a couple of my other varmint type calibers and...

ladder test-visibility question
Have a great opportunity to get to the range this weekend for the first time in months. I want to run a ladder test with my 204 Ruger. I believe it will work best at 200 yards. I have a 6-20X40 Bushnell Elite 4200 on the rifle. With it being the weekend and the range will be busy I won't have a lot ...

Re: Maybe a crazy question
Thanks for the replies.
Rick's, Quickload answer was what I was looking for. I know there are software programs out there that might help answer my question but I am not familiar with any of them.
I was going to use the info as a reference but only to work up to, not start with.

Maybe a crazy question
I have a custom 22br that because of job changes has been stored in the back of my gun safe. The rifle was only shot enough to fire form 50 rounds of brass and work up a pretty good load. The problem is that I wrote down all the components except the type of powder. Here is what I recorded: Lapua fi...

Re: Weaver Grand Slam
Thanks for the suggestions. I had already noticed the price on Natchez and ordered the Ballistic reticle version. I should have it by Friday.

Weaver Grand Slam
I am thinking of putting a 6.5-20 Weaver Grand Slam on my CZ 204. I know what options Weaver offers in recticle choices but am not able to actually look through the scopes before purchase. Anyone care to give some advise on which option for varmints and occasional targets. I have a Weaver V4-16 with...

Re: Primers
Thanks Bill. but I was hoping for more. I have been reloading for a long time and know about thicker cups, etc. and that some primers are 'labeled' magnums. But does someone have info where a true scientific test was done to prove how hot the spark is from each? For example, CCI's magnum primer may ...

Primers
Which are the hottest? I looked most of the morning and found several lists, problem is they are all different. One listed Rem 7 1/2 as the hottest and the other said it was at the other end. Anybody know for certain. Rifle primers only please.

Re: 17 REMINGTION
I have shot a Remington 700 BDL in 17 Remington for about 15 years. I am in the east so we don't have much opportunity to shoot many rounds at varmints per trip; so barrel fouling has never been a problem for me. I just clean whenever I get home. I have had very good luck with IMR 4320, Reloader 15,...

Re: Reloading at the range?
If I am serious I will reload at the range. I use a Harrell measure and no scale. Before reloading (while at home) I throw different charges of powder with the Harrell, weigh them and record the info to take with me. I always make sure that I use a powder that either fills the case or is close. That...
