Re: WTB Old Handloaders Magazines
I first came across Handloader in 1966. Ken Waters had a Pet Load article on the .257 Roberts (one of my favorite old cartridges) in issue 4 ( or volume 4). I wished that I still had the original copies but thru many moves I disposed of most of them. The Rifle magazine came a few years later and now...

Re: Remington 1911
Remington has a lot of experience with 1911 45s. During WW2 they ran an arsenal in Ogden, Utah to repair 1911s for the services. Their chief inspector was Elmer Keith.

Re: H&R triggers
I sent a NEF 22 hornet back for some repairs. They fixed the problem and if you ask them they will lighten the trigger for you at no cost.

Re: Primers for Sale Federal and Winchester
I just purchased 1000 Rem 7 1/2 primers for $30.99 plus tax ($33.08). They had about 10 bricks at Spotaman's Warehouse in Orem Utah.

Re: Rimfire rifles
I have both rifles in the calibers you ask about. Two CZs in 22 lr and a Marlin 917v in 17HMR. Both are very accurate but the CZs seem to have a better finish and fit. They cost more but I would buy the CZs if you can afford them.

Re: Ballistic software - whats good?
I have using LOAD FROM A DISK for several years. It has some excellent features. There is an extensive bullet database including bullet manufactures such as barnes, berger, lapua, swift, woodleigh and all major ones . Good external ballistics and good graphic for trajectories. It also allows what if...

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse
I think that the less successful Sportsman's Warehouses are the one that are closing. There are four in Utah and all are going to remain opened. They must be making a profit and are in competition with Cabelas.

Re: Good ball powder for 22-250
I tried 42.0 grains of W760 powder in my 22-250 Ruger 77. Bob Hagel wrote an aticle in the Handloader magazine (about 1978) with that load. At that load my primer pockets were so expanded that the primers would fall when the cases were picked up. I reduced the load for my rifle to 39.0 grains and ha...

Re: Somethin to play with.
My father had a Remington 760 pump in 30-06. It was purchase new in about 1956. I bought it for Dad for a Christmas present, my mom paid for it. It replaced a Remington model 1917 30-06. It was more than accurate for Utah Mule deer. My dad has past away now but I still have the Model 760. Every year...

I believe that the crater is known as the Sedan crater. It is an early nuclear test in the Nevada test site desert.
