Berger .224 80 Gr VLD in AR

I have a Bushmaster with a 1:8 barrel that should shoot these 180 gr VLD's but I am unable to find a load that will keep powder compression down and still stay under the over length to feed into the AR magazine.

Anyone have a load source for these.

Photos Added / cut muzzle brake off Savage for accuracy

I purchased a Savage LRH (long range hunter) in 6.5 x 284 Norma. After over 100 test shots and different powders, bullets and seating depth I was convinced it would never be better than a 2 MOA rifle. Here is a photo of the target from my modified 6.5 x 284 Savage with bi-pod and Burris 8-32x50 scop...

Re: Better powder dispenser

Three times huh??? I'm not telling how many times I did it. Suffice it to say it has been more than three but now I keep a piece of clean paper under it. That is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars in my book. Maybe keep it rotating to empty but spring loaded. That would earn 5 stars !

Re: Better powder dispenser

Bodei, How many times have you left the powder drain open when you changed powders? A couple a times of that and I started putting a plain piece of white paper under the chargemaster just in case I did it again. All in all I agree. A great powder dispenser!

Valquartzen 17 HMR Anyone have one

Looking to replace my savage 17HMR with the Valquartzen TF 17. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle.

They are showing 18 Shots in under a half inch at 65 yards. Also claims sub MOA 5 round groups.

Barrel twist for 39 gr Blitz King

I see a lot of posts for folks using the 39 Grain Blitz King. I also see a lot saying they can't get it to group. What I don't see is much reference to twist rates on the rifles that DO shoot well. I am thinking of trying it on the DPMS upper which is a 1:12. Sounds a bit slow for the 39 but there a...
