Longest measured kill on a ground squirrel for me was 306 yards. Creased the top of his head so to speak. LOL.

Shooting 32 grain BK seated to oal of 2.341 getting .375 groups. Lands measure 2.394 and figured moving bullet closer to lands should tighten group but did opposite which surprised me. I am working up loads for a Cooper Model 21 and have been seating bullets .020 off of lands. What have

Thanks WY-NEvarmints. Built a gun room in basement to display guns and do my reloading in. Have about 30 long guns in my gun room plus some hand guns.

All my varmint guns have Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24-40m AO scopes with mil dot reticles. The 4200 s have worked good for me.

I agree with RowdyYates. It is nice to have lots of magnification at your disposal even on a 17hmr. I have 6-24 powers on 17 HMR, 204 and 22 hornet. If you can afford it get the extra magnification. I like the fine reticles or mil dots but that is personal preference.

Top to bottom BRNO Fox in 22 hornet, Cooper Model 21 Montana Varminter 204, CZ 527 Varmint in 204, CZ 453 Delux in 17 HMR. All are topped with Elite 4200 6x24 glass. Had Cooper for almost a month and love it.

My 527 varmint shoots handload 32s into sub 1/2 inch groups. 40s tend to expand the group size out to about an inch. Nice gun to shoot. you will have a blast shooting it.

Does anybody know how many lbs of torque should the front and rear action screws be tightened on a model 21 204 Montana Varminter with 26 inch barrel. Also are all guns torque the same at factory? Thanks in advance.

Rick in Oregon: Did you follow the suggested barrel break in of cleaning after every round for the 1st 50 rounds on your cooper.

I bought a Cooper Model 21 Montana Varminter in 204. Mounted scope and sighted it in at 50 yards yesterday. Took 3 shots to get it shooting in the 10 ring. Put 5 shots in one ragged hole. Very impressed with gun finish and trigger. It is by far the best factory trigger I have had the pleasure to use...
