Re: CFE223 range report (finally)

From what I have read CFE= copper fouling eliminator. Supposed to really help in the cleaning of the barrel. I also read an article that said Hodgdon was going to be incorporating this in more of their powders in the future. Sorry cant remember where I read this stuff. There is reload data for the p...

Re: First coyote with 204

The female winded me and she was not sticking around, when I took the male she lit the afterburners. I forgot to take a pic. I was caught up in the moment and had other stuff to do and I just forgot. It was a nice one too, no mange and heavy. I took it to my buddy who sells the fur, did not want to ...

First coyote with 204

Finally called in two this morning and the .204 40gr vmax done the trick. Big male never knew what hit him. One shot and he never moved at around 2-250yards.

Re: BUYING A 204 RUGER

I would say first off which bullet are you going to shoot. If you are wanting the heavier bullets a 1-10 works better. Lighter bullets are good for the 1-12. I found the T/C venture predator, it has a sporter barrel that is fluted and has a 1-10 twist and it likes the 40 gr vmaxes. Also have heavy b...

Seeing no coyotes in West Kentucky

So how is everybody else doing? I bought a caller and have not seen a coyote since. Whether calling or not. Have heard several others say it is a rough year. So what is the verdict guys? If everybody else is having luck I may need some tips.

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204

So far so good with the T/C. Took it out yesterday morn at first light and got it sighted in. About 28F degrees and little round holes with the 40gr. Vmaxes. Looks like the MOA accuracy is going to hold true. Going to have to adjust the trigger but I think I am going to like the 10 twist. Points goo...

Re: Cold weather problem

Had the same problem with my Rem had egg shapped holes and fliers on a still cold morning. Shot it on a warmer day and it was laying them in there when I done my part. Was shooting the 40 gr. vmaxes. Going to try a different rifle in the morning.

I know the Hornady manual has some 40gr loads at 3850 fps. It might have something for you to look at?

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204

Well picked up the gun tonight really like the way it looks. Got everything torqued down and got to swab it out a little and going to sight in, in the morning. I just hope it stabilizes the 40's. My Rem has a hard time with them.
