Re: Screech !!
The screech you are hearing is the dry bore to dry brush contact. Even if you wet the brush well at the bore guide port, all the solvent will have dissipated before the brush gets all the way down the tube. Run a couple of loose wet patches before the brush and anoint it at the muzzle on each pass u...

Re: Dogtown load
Thanks Skunkriver. I had searched. I believe some of the origional work-ups by members here were lost in the move to a new server for the forum. There is really not a lot of info. left. Found three loads for 27.5, 28.0, and 28.3 from Greymist with chrono speeds and a 27.7 load from Wrswaldo all for ...

Dogtown load
I’ve started the winter reloading deal and was wondering if anyone has come up with loads they like for the Dogtown bullet and have run them over a chrono. I was thinking H4895 as that is my powder of choice for all the other bullets. I also have a couple of pounds of IMR4895. Thanks in advan...

Re: Question about brass
A lot of good info here. I have to agree with Silverfox. The best deal is to start with a good number of the same lot of brass and do all the prep as Rick points out. Stay with a reasonable load and the brass will last for a good while. I have seven reloadings on my original lot of WW. I have had a ...

Re: First Timer questions....
Buy yourself a Smith and Wesson Airweight. Read the statistics on handgun exchanges. They are close and quick. You need a gun that goes bang every time. You do not need 16 rounds or a gun that is accurate to 50 yards and drags your pants down or makes a big buldge in your clothes. You will only carr...

Re: Bull Elk - Use Enough Gun!
Well, since there are opinions being given, I’ll put up mine. I have shot all my elk (13) with a .338. Every one with a 250 gr. Bullet. I had to chase one, but I have had them roll farther down a hill than that. I believe that you have to knock them down right away. A long shot on the Clearwa...

Re: .221 Fireball
I don’t have one but my brother has two. A Savage loaner I can shoot any time and his custom Miller I can shoot some time. He does not have a 204 so when we get together to shoot there is a lot of rifle swapping going on. I have to say that the 221 is a blast to shoot. The cartridge is about ...

Re: Coyote God's Forum
I read over there for a while. Don't sound very friendly and are stuck in their own way of doing things. I never cared that much for fleas nor needed money that bad. Where I grew up we shot dogs because they killed stock. I will try to shoot any coyote I get a chance at in a legal situation. I don't...

Re: Digital Scale Problem
Tic-Tac, Batteries are death to my MX123. I used to store the batteries to my rechargable drill that I use for case prep in my reloading cabinet along with several trays of Duracell batteries. I proved to myself that they were the major cause of wandering of my scale. I have a flourescent fixture ab...
