Thanks for all the good info. Sorry to respond late but have not been able to get on again for a few days. I've been looking at the 416b Foxpro. Would still want to use my mouth calls with it.

Mouth calls vrs. E-callers

Would like to hear what people are using. I still use mouth calls but I am considering an E-call for the most obvious reason (eyes off me). I still like the challange of doing my own calling.

Dogcaller, Welcome. Hope you are able to get out soon. You will love the 204. I'm going to roll out for a few hours this AM and see if anyone wants to sing. 27 degree this AM and a little snow day before yesterday. Hope they are looking for a meal.

Rick , The 85 will be just like your 75 varmint stainless laminate except for the few minor modifications of the 85. Slightly different mag catch, comb of stock a little higher. Although it would not effect the #1 action, the bolt lock device is no longer on the larger actions. I was scared to deat...

Rick , Just got my annealing tip from Todd Kindler. Played around with some cast off cases and got good results with the 12 sec. count as you indicated. Nice light blue-green color. Thanks again for your help. Have put an order in for a new Sako 85 Varmint stainless fluted (75's out of production) ...

I'm excited already. Just started on 1100 new cases and ordered a new Sako 85 SS varmint. I feel real good but real poor, and I haven't ordered a scope yet. Have to talk to the wife about getting a job.

Rick and Scootertrash, Thanks a million for the info. I believe I will call Todd Kindler again tomorrow. I have been wanting to get his books, so I might as well get a tip also.

Rick , I called Todd Kindler after your origional post about the annealing tip and was a bit confussed as to what type of torch and what type of gas was used with it. I am still considering it. I believe he said the tip was $42.00 dollars. What type of gas and torch do you use? A 3/8" deep soc...

annealing questions

I got a 650 degree temp stick today (tempilstik) and tried to anneal a couple cases. Have a few questions for Skipper or anyone else who uses this method. 1. When I rub the temp stick, which is very hard, on the case just below the shoulder it leaves a dusty like material on the case. Is this the wa...

Welcome Farmboyuk. Have had the pleasure of chatting with a number of your countrymen about Sako rimfire rifles. Great group here, you will enjoy the forum.
