You sir, are misinformed. I will state now that the 204 ruger is not an adequate deer caliber and you are doing a disservice to all ethical hunters by saying that it is. You are the reason why most states have to legislate a minimun caliber for large game hunting. Go do what you will, but you are wr...

Bad Dad , The idea behind hand priming is consistantly setting the primer to the same depth and setting the primer anvil correctly under a slight pressure. A crushed anvil will break the priming compound causing inconsistant ignition. A primer not fully seated will be seated the rest of the way by ...

Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm just curious. There has been a lot of debate here and on other forums as to the suitability of the 204 for game as small as a coyote (I believe the 204 is a great coyote round). It seems that most of the bulllets are designed for small varmint hunting. Do yo...

I'd go with the 6.5-20. Is good at the range, for squirrels at least to 400 and maybe farther, and can be turned down for coyote. Better to have a little too much and not need it, than to have too little and wish you had more. That said, I'm not familiar with the Cabela's scopes so I don't even know...

I don’t remember if I posted this before, but last year my son and I were out squirrel shooting when two BLM officers pulled up to us. They asked if we had seen anyone else in the area or had noticed any trash. Evidently one of the latest drug related behaviors is going to remote areas of the...

Idaho is filthy with mountain lions. I have been stalked when elk hunting. Very unsettling. Try setting up for coyotes by yourself and not turning your head quick when you hear something behind you. My 16 round .40 is always in my lap. . No silliness. I have spent a lot of time in the woods and am n...

35 Berger vrs. crow
I had hoped that today I would get an opportunity to try the 35 Berger on a coyote. No such luck (or maybe lack of skill). After three stands in a balmy 15 degrees with a 15-20 mph wind I found myself looking for some new spots. Actually found some good looking squirrel areas. So, I’m driving...

goody523 , Depending on how many cases you are working with, if you are going to weight sort for shooting groups, get 20 or thirty that are all the same or within 1gr. and keep those for your range cases. You will go nuts sorting 1000 or 1500 cases. Get your load and go with it for the rest of the ...

Goody523 , I use both the tools from Sinclair in your post. The flash hole tool indexes off the case mouth and is used after a case is trimmed to length. The tool is set for about 10 thousandths of cutting exposure. I perform this operation immediately after trimming on the Wilson trimmer and the c...

The Opti-Visor is the greatest. I wear my 1.75 readers under my 4x lenses and I have the 10x loop that attaches to the left eye and swings out of the way when not needed for a total of 15.75x with the loop. A snap to go from low to high power. Essential for a good look at most anything at my age. Ru...
