Welcome to the forum. That is a great looking rig you have. I admire your industriousness. The things in life that I have worked the hardest to get are the ones I cherish most.

flunkedchemistry, Some interesting stuff on those posts. I read that board a lot. Wish I had 25,000 disposable dollars and a whole lot more time. Oh, and a window in my reloading room that opened onto my private range.

glenn asher , No boys and few men can bring someone down off the chuckar hill. I suppose when we got to town we could call a helicopter, but I usually don't have a quarter. We have been out with a couple "expert" chuckar hunting writers over the years and they usually don't make it up the...

Acloco , First, thank you for sharing all your hard work. I was a little surprised that the 32 vm was failing in your rifle at 4100fps. I shoot the 28.2 h4895 load with that bullet. I have shot quite a few over the chronograph and the average velocity for 50 rounds is 3914.57fps. Quite a bit slower...

When ever I get to feeling sorry for myself carrying a rifle or shotgun, I think of the guy who has no option and is carrying a .50 and a 90 lb. ruck. Makes me stop whining.

Bullfrog, No word on the number of tags. As Sportfaller can attest to, there are a lot of wolves in the woods. I hunt the Clearwater area for elk and deer, and at night it is surreal to listen to them.

Rick, Don't worry. I have had the chance several times. Don't want to give up a truck, a gun, some money and go to jail. When it is legal, there will be a 130 gr. Game King or a 250 gr. Grand Slam going down range.

Wolf hunting

The Idaho Senate yesterday unanimously passed the hunting of wolves in Idaho as early as fall 2008. Tags will be $9.50 for residents and $150.00 for out of state. Must now pass the House. Ya hoo.

My brother just experienced the same thing as you with a .221 fireball. He is a gunsmith, and was planning a build which is done now, so basically bought the gun for the action. He did shoot the factory rifle for a bit after installing a Jewell trigger, but the barrel was a joke. Looking through the...

I have a Sinclair, but after reading here about the K&M I think I might try one of those although the handle may need to be modified. The Sinclair indexes off the case mouth and the K&M off the internal web.

No flame but I spent the first 38 years of my life in CA. Started shooting off my uncle’s shoulder at 5. That was at ground squirrels. I go back at least once a year to visit and shoot with my brother, and can say with certainty that the California ground squirrel that inhabits southern and c...
