Rick , Hear that. Last year I took 500 rds. on the airplane to CA. TSA opened all the boxes of loaded rounds carefully packed with foam in the box lids. The foam was in the suitcase; about 20 of the rounds were loose. So my painstakingly hand loaded rounds beat around in the box all the way from Bo...

Power Points
I just talked to my brother who has a friend that is an explosives and ammunition distributor in CA. He said he would have Power Points again in June. The distributor cost has increased by $70.00 per case of 5000. Pretty soon we will have another choice to make. Buy groceries or medical insurance or...

Gerry , I go a bit more south from there toward Bruneu. They have built a lot of houses down around Kuna-Mora Rd. There is a huge development proposed for the area just east of the Black’s Creek Rifle Range, which I bet will be the end of that place. I hear you on the weather. I could see th...

First day out
Despite the cloudy skies and a chance of rain I went out to the desert after finishing up a job early this AM. I managed to scratch down thirteen in two and half hours. Funny thing was that I saw some small squirrels today. Usually this time of the season I only see the bigger males. Sure was good t...

I have to agree with Rick. A quality .22 lr and a good scope will take you to the beginning of centerfire ranges. The beauty of the .22 lr. is the low cost of ammo and the ease of maintenance. Many match shooters rarely if ever clean their barrels. With the endless rise in ammo and component costs i...

Crazymedic , While I respect your opinion, I have to respectfully disagree. The people who elect pro gun control politicians are not looking to create a tyrannical government. They are inundated with negative information about violence and crime as it relates to firearms on a continual basis. They ...

Rick , What I was reading was my Handloading for Competition, by Zediker. He was saying that a new case that was loaded for that first firing with a known safe load could safely expand up to .0015 at the case head. On the second firing with an unknown load the case can expand at the head no more th...

As long as we have gone political (for good reason) for a bit, a personal observation follows: Why in the name of all that is holy, do the Democrats seem more concerned with gun ownership than what I see as the main reason for the criminal use of firearms which would be drug use in general, but more...

Pressure Anyone?
I was doing a little reading about pressure indications which led to a little measuring. With my blade calipers, the extractor grove flat on a new WW case measures .3285. A fired case measures .3300. Difference of .0015. As I have read, this is the outside of a conservative tolerance. If any of you ...
