Re: AR 15 and clean burn
I hear that CFE223 is supposed to be really good. Talked to an old timer last week out shootin rats north of Susanville that bought an 8 pounder and was loading up 204 and 20 VT with it. He said he has no more blue patches. I will probably replace my H335 loads with it when I use up my 8 lb jar. If ...

Re: Look What I Got
For factory ammo try Fiocchi. As a bonus, they are cheaper & very accurate in my rifle. They use vmax.

Re: How Many Rifles???
Nice! That's what I was thinking about getting. Please let me know how you like it on your trip. Bet it's hard to find a carrying case with that 30" barrel.

Re: New Member/Building an AR in .204
Just curious why you want a black barrel? Is it a coyote gun? If so, you could just paint the whole thing youself.

Re: Tactical .22 LR ammo
I found some CCI "AR 15 Tactical" ammunition at Cabela's. Copper coated medium velocity. Shot great groups from my 10/22, no feeding problems.
Re: best .22
For the money, probably a Savage MkII would be your best best. Especially for an out of the box rifle with accuracy.

Re: How Many Rifles???
I am so jealous of that 6BR, it is #1 on my "next gun" purchase. Too bad I'm still paying off my last guns! Which Savage 6BR do you have? Got a pic and specs for it? I think it will be well served on PDs, especially on those windy days (every day) when you need to reach out and touch em. @...
Re: best .22
The most versatile .22 is the Ruger 10/22. $189-250 on sale. You should say for what purpose you plan on using it. If it is for a little bit of everything, I would still say Ruger 10/22, because you can customize it yourself to suit any purpose. head over to rimfirecentral forum for the most informa...

Were you hunting on Alturas Ranches property? I'm hoping to get up there soon. Are the babies out yet? Good shooting!

Re: How Many Rifles???
I would take two centerfires and 1-2 rimfire (.22 and 17HMR). Of course .204 is one of the centerfires. Maybe a .223 with some 60 grain v-max to buck the wind. If I had a 6mmBR I would take that!

Hey man, nice rifle and nice groups. I'm pretty new as well but there are plenty of ballistics calculator sites out there and some great apps for smartphones. Shop around till you find one that works for you.

Re: Field report Anyone
Tried the (.224 )40 grainers on Sage Rats and they are as good as Vmax. Once I get rid of my bulk Z-max and have to switch back to regular-priced V-max I will switch over to the Noslers since they are cheaper.
