Re: I can't reload ammo this good . . .
I really think you can do better than 1/2" with hand loads. Even if you cant, its still cheaper to shoot.

Re: Shooting table....
I like the $150 big game table except that it doesnt easily allow use of a front rest, rear bag configuration. The table top is too short. Its a good swivel seat though for the money. I recently forked out for the deluxe wood top Caldwell and it is definitely the best. Very heavy though. Heavier tha...

Re: Barrel Cleaning
+1 on the Wipe Out. I spray it in and let it sit overnight. Wipe in the AM then another dose while at work usually does the trick. Just use until the blue patches end. No smell.

Re: Fun with Skippy in 2012 Pt. 2 (The Valley of Death)
Rick, Thanks for the tip on the Winchester Power Points, I just ordered 500 online to see how they will do. I've been in the market for a good anti-squirrel .22LR round. I also ordered some CCI segmented 1080fps and some of the new Winchester Varmint HE, segmented to compare. I'm shooting a Kidd 20&...

Re: AR 15 and clean burn
I also second 8208XBR as a fine AR powder.
Bill the guy I talked to got his CFE223 at Sportsman's in Reno. You have to make the salesman walk in back to look, or they will just say they dont have any.
I got some 50 grain Zmax that are shooting nice from my AR, but 40 grainers really cook!

Be careful shooting "crows" unless you are an expert in bird ID between ravens & crows. Check your local state laws re:crows, CA has a season. If you're on private, it may be possible to do it under depredation laws.

.22 LR is definitely the "workhorse" of any squeak-patch. Especially once the younguns are out!

Re: Slow Around Here
I was out shooting last week before the wind. Lotsa targets, baby squeaks got hit hard by my rimfire. Tried to save the .204 for the big "mossy-backs". It was a good shoot.

Re: Which twist is better ?
I have a vArmint barrel .223 AR with 1:8 twist and it handles 40-77+grain bullets. 77 is the largest 8 have fired. 40 grain Zmax is my standard squirrel load.

Re: 20VT Rock Chuck Outing
Nice, I got fried today in the sun shooting squeaks in Butte Valley. Saw two chucks out grazing this am and working on getting landowner permission to tak em out. The young skipettes are out in full force. The parents look like groundhogs by comparison. Happy shooting.
