I prefer to shoot off of bi-pods. A little raised ground makes for a perfect vantage point to shoot in all directions....We move around to much to lug benches everywhere.

Sounds like you need a tumbler that uses dry media.

Well, I loaded up some test loads and it seems that the rifle likes a little jump. I loaded up 3 sets with the same powder charge.... and 3 different COL's 2.280, 2.300 and 2.320. The best group was with the shortest one @ about an inch. But as much as I hate to admit it I don't think my beloved Var...

I figured this would lead down the gadget road. I'm going to try to do the best with what I have and we'll see how it turns out.

If it's not over the max case length of 1.850 there is no need to trim. Case trimming is the one step of reloading that I dread. If they aren't out of spec just leave them be.
