Re: New Ruger( to me )

Went to one of the local gun shops today just browsing for scopes. Looked at a Redfield, Nikon Prostaff, and a Leupold VX-1. All scopes were the 3x9x40mm. Decided on the Leupold. This is also my first Leupold scope and I will be purchasing more. Just need to get the Butler Creek scope caps now. http...

Re: WTB - Sierra .204 39 grain bullets

You may already do this, but log on to MidwayUSA, Natchez, Midsouth Shooters, etc. Most offer to notify you when products like this are available. I'm on the Midway "notify me" feature now waiting for this same bullet. You then have to order immediately because they sell out quickly. If y...

New Ruger( to me )

I finally got my .22wmr. Picked it up from a gentleman at work. Ruger 77/22 with a very nice walnut stock. This is my first ruger bolt action rifle and I am very pleased. This is my first ever "used firearm" purchase. Now comes the fun part of scope shopping. Any suggestions/input? http://...

My first gobbler

Today I shot my first Turkey. A good friend of mine is an avid turkey hunter and has been encouraging me to purchase a Turkey license for the past 2 years. Finally this year I took his advice. He told me that he would come sit with me and call for me. This morning was the opening day of my week long ...

Re: Ruger 77/22 older model with the iron sights

I have plenty of centerfire rifles to buck the wind. I guess the only reason I'm considering buying it is the price is right. And a ruger 77 would be a nice addition to my safe. :D

Re: finally found some 7 1/2s!

My local Scheels has a lot of them but have a 1000 ct limit. Picked up a box today and may go back tomorrow for another. Powder supply is short now. At least primers are becoming available.

Ruger 77/22 older model with the iron sights

It's been awhile since I have purchased a new toy and I have to opportunity to purchase a older Ruger 77/22 .22 wmr from a gentleman at work. Anybody have an issue with these fine ruger rifles? I already have 2- .22lr's, and a .17 hmr. I'd like a .22 mag for the heavier grain bullets but if I don't ...

Re: to moly or not to moly

I guess my thoughts are no moly. My only reason being your limited to moly only. In a situation like the one we have today you take what you can get to enjoy the hobby we all love. If you shoot moly coated bullets you're limited to those only. Just my 2 cents. Not saying its right or wrong but it's ...

Re: I also had a RIO experience !!!!!

Another Beatiful rifle RIO. Your photos are top-notch. I need to really start hitting up the pawn shops in town here. A guy at work wants to sell me his Ruger 77/22 .22 mag for $400

Beatiful rifle. I have the version without the thumbhole stock and I love it. Real good shooter, it loves the 17 gr V-max.
