Dusted off an old rifle
Been shooting my new 204 and lod 223 a lot. Brought out the Sav 110 308. Found out how much I missed the big calibers. Busted a football size rock in half at just under 500y and hit 1/2 of it. 150g sp fed. Took only 1 round to get the corrections for ele/wind.

Re: QUESTION 1/8" adjustments @ 100 @ 200 ?
Does the rest of the math add up? Yep - your maths is correct. Essentially you just divide your yardage distance (eg 600) by 100 (=6), put it over your denominator (=6/8) which then gives you inches per 1 click (3/4"). For a 1/4 moa scope, this would be 1 & 1/2" @ 600yd. If the video ...

WIND DRIFT
Hornady factory chart says .5" drift for 32gr V-Max at 400 in a 10 mph wind. I'm zeroed at 200y and whacked 2 chucks at 150 & 165y, spot on POI. Couldn't connect on the 400y one. Had a 10-12 mph wind R-L (gage). Drop was as advertised at that range but, drift was around 12". Solid rest...

QUESTION 1/8" adjustments @ 100 @ 200 ?
I have a question because I'm having an old-timers moment, I'M I correct in my thinking. 1 click = 1/8" @ 100, 1/4" @ 200, 3/8" @ 300, 1/2" @ 400 and 5/8" @ 500 ?
So, with a 100y zero, 4 clicks would be 1" ?
Thanks for any and all help. Brian

Re: CZ .204 Varmint at the Range Yesterday
Amazed myself with 4 of 5 shots through the same hole at 100 yds even in a breeze and heat distortion through my inexpensive 6.5-20X50 Whitetail Classic scope complete with 66 yr old eyes....maybe luck.... don't know....but I'll take it. 39gr Bk, 25.6 gr Benchmark, 2.31 COL http://i983.photobucket....

Re: Factory Ammo OAL/Head Space?
I suspect if you take a bullet "comparator" and measure your cartridges you`ll find they are all very close to the same length from base to ogive, which is the important number if the COL from base to bullet tip allows the cartridge to fit the magazine to start with. Bullet tips are notor...

Re: Factory Ammo OAL/Head Space?
I also have 2 boxes of the hornady 40 gr and put the calipers to them and found the same thing, this is from round to round out of the same box. I don't know if they all end up in the same bin and then boxed or what. The measurements are close to the 32 gr. Thanks for the info. Brian

Factory Ammo OAL/Head Space?
Greetings, Haven't reloaded in 25 years so I don't recall allot of data. I have been using Hornady 204 32gr VMax with no trouble. I purchased several boxes of them all with the same LOT #. I was experiencing the loss of groups. POI would be 2-3 rounds touching and then 1 or 2 way off but a very tigh...
