Re: New Ruger 6mm Creedmoor rifles
Think he is taking about the guy on YouTube, name is something like: Adudeandsomeguns. It is impressive, but not as unusual as you would think IMO. Been doing it for years with a 308 and recently a 6.5 Creed. The hardest part, aside from the wind murdering your confidence; is getting a decent spotte...

Re: Nosler accubond lr
Maybe a mute point by now...
We got actually deforming the bullet, or the case?
Heavier than that, or more importantly a longer bullet, may not be able to be stabilized in that cartridge without a faster twist.

When you hit "reply, above is a button that says "Img". When you click it, you will see this appear in your reply: "[ img] [ /img]" in between them is where you insert the link to where you have them stored. So, I use photobucket, and would copy the "direct link address...

Re: Bullets: Boat tail vs. Flat base???
The range I'll be speaking of is 100 to 400 yards and my interest is in accuracy. A) It seems to me that boat tail bullets are the most accurate in my .204 & in my .224 caliber rifles, flat base seem to be the most accurate. Is this just a coincidence or some fact? 1. Are there advantages of on...

Re: H4895 V IRM4895
According to Hodgdon, "Extreme powders perform just as well at 125 degrees as they do at 0 degrees." I do not shoot outside those conditions. He was asking what some of the differences were and this is one of them. You told him that powder X was "insenstitive", so he should try ...

Re: H4895 V IRM4895
Temperature insensitivity is NOT a universal property. It is designed for around a set of circumstances. Outside those conditions, and it's a crap shoot at best.

Re: Seating Depth verus Velocity/Pressure
Unless you get deep enough to seriously compress/impinge on powder space, pressures fall. The case will begin to expand and pressurize the chamber before the bullet completely engraves the lands. This bleeds pressure off. There is a chart floating around from work done by IIRC Brownell. It's express...

Re: 34gr cheapies!
Yep, I've shot mountains of the 34gr Varmint Nightmares as well. I'm unashamedly a "made in Murrica!!", so I use CFE. Canister grade powders have a nominal lot allowance for up to 10% differences between lots, so no one can tell you what load to use. No one since the old and now defunct A-...

Re: Ball vs. Stick powders
Here's some info you will want when anyone tells you that brand X's powder is or isn't magically extreme: It's not true, in the sense that they mean, or that you want to believe. Here is how powders work in the real world. Temperature insensitive powders are such, based around a specific set of desi...

Re: brass options
Norma did make Nosler brass for them. When they bought Silver State that gained them ability to produce cases, just don't know if they changed over yet or not.

Only when accuracy drops, with this Ruger that is around 400 rounds.

Well I wasn't gonna ask you for anything if I had them, but it appears they are gone; sorry JD.
If I can dig something up, I'll let you know.

Re: new chassis
My question is about the M77 MKII reciever in that chassis. If you look at the Scout series, Vs. a M77(MKII, Hawkeye) the floor of the reciever doesn't have "lips" on the scout. That way the magazines fit, whereas the Hawkeye needs them ground off. At least to work with the scout system. W...

Re: brass options
Winchester sold all production capacity MUCH longer ago than that. Anything with a Winchester name, is least-cost bidding my whomever; stamped with the name on the head.Roach68 wrote:Winchester hasn't produced stand alone .204 brass since around 2013ish
