My Savage has a 22" 1:12 twist and shoots the 40g Vmax by Fiocchi just fine. I can knock off a yote at 350-400 yards no problem. And yes I am comfortable shooting at that range with the .204. The projectile stabilizes and does it's job. I have never had a problem. I would say 1:12 or 1:11.
