Re: New T/C Venture .204...what's wrong with it?

I had to send it in for the Venture recall. It was inconvenience but it was fairly painless and quick. Very good people working customer service. Hopefully things go well. They are a great rifle, you wont be disappointed.

Re: New T/C Venture .204...what's wrong with it?

I own the same gun and I have had no problems. I would say there is some bur in the chamber as well. I had to send my gun in and I thought the service was awesome. I agree that they are making a correct barrel. I also like the r5 rifling, stabilizes bullet and easier to clean barrel as well. I have ...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204

I am sure I could get better groups with it, but I don't want to have to buy a bunch of different powders and bullets, etc. I did that with my last gun and it was a pain. I look at my uncle who has 17 different powders in his collection and I don't want that! I like Varget powder, it is great for al...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204

Their statement about the 5 was that the edges of the rifling were not as sharp as the 6 so it did not damage the bullets as bad which resulted in better accuracy. Just wondering if anyone has this rifle and has seen a difference accuracy? Mack What do you mean by difference in accuracy? As I said ...

The gun is accurate no doubt, but I also heard that it does not foul as bad due to their only being 5 lands to collect copper etc. This would also make it easier clean as well.
Not sure if its more accurate, for sure it would be as accurate.

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204

I bought a TC Predator in November and love it! I was also thinking of buying as Savage Model 10 as well, as I am a big fan of their rifles and love the 3 I own, but I could not find one for over a year. I think they are a hot commodity. Anyway, I got tired of waiting for Savage and found the Predat...

Re: My latest Toy

I have not seen that powder around, but I have not been looking for it either. There are some small dealers around here. Not sure if they would have it, but I could give you contact info. I assume you have checked Wholesale and Cabelas in Winnipeg? Is it fairly new? Let me know what you come up with...

Re: 32 v-max for coyotes

Good old operator error!! LOL! How many times have we all had to admit to that! Don't feel bad, happens to everyone! It is too bad it was on a dark coyote like that. I ran into a dark coyote a couple of weeks ago. We were calling and got busted by some coyotes that came in behind us and my buddy sho...

Re: Savage Model 10 Predator scope

Nikon makes their Coyote scope in Max 1 and Mossy Oak Brush. Very nice scope from what I have read.

Re: 32 v-max for coyotes

Great shooting!!I have been using the 32 gr Vmax for 2.5 months now on coyotes and I have not had one get away. I think they are the real deal for coyotes. I shot one that was facing me right in the chest and he only ran about 5 yards before going down. One little hole that was it. I would not be to...

Re: My latest Toy

Welcome fellow Canadian goatr, I am from SW Sask. Looks like a nice unit you have there. I have had my 204 since November and I absolutely love it. My favorite load for it is 28 grains of Varget with 32 grain Vmax bullets. Not a real screaming round but I can get about a half inch group out of it an...
