Re: Help...204 issues
No worries Tony I realise you probably already tried that, but had to say just in case coz mine started throwing them high and right when warmer. I probably should've mentioned that instead of just saying the groups got wider. Re PM - I've noticed when I try to post on a thread, sometimes it won't, ...

Re: Help...204 issues
Tony - I did some more tests this morning and started getting a little impatient toward the end coz the temp was getting above 30C and wind picking up. So I kinda rushed the last few shots and didn't let the barrel cool for long. These shots started spreading a bit wider. Just a thought - once yours...

Thanks Brad. I'll call him tomorrow
TP - have you tried setting your neck/FL sizer die such that there's a little less tension?
Could be too small a diameter there

Re: Help with next loads please
The wind and temperature finally gave me a little break this morning. So I got down to my half finished bench (photos when it's done) to test those 39BKs over AR2208 and AR2206H. 2208 not real good - smaller group on the lowest charge, but averaging 3325fps, so I won't bother going lower to see what...

Re: How do you load flat based bullets?
I've been using the simple cheap Lee chamfer tool. They seat the 39BKs fairly smoothly, but I've noticed tiny shavings of copper coming off.
I'm seriously considering one of the CRT VLD chamfer tools.
Brad - is your Aussie distributor dealing these?

Re: Tell us about yourself...
I just recently got into shooting at the range. Makes a bit more sense :) Not that buying that many so quick is a bad thing. Bet we all wish we had the money, and time, to collect that quick. Nice list anyway Ross. Show us some targets when you get around to testing that 204. I'm in the process of ...

Re: Tell us about yourself...

Re: Question about the Berger 40gr Varmint BT
FWIW, the 40 gr Bergers shot very well for me in both a bolt and an AR. 1" @300 if I was shooting well (always a bipod and rear bag) and about 1.5" when I wasn't too sharp. My favorite shop no longer carries them. rats. 1" groups at 300 yards? That's pretty good! If you're gett...

Re: Help...204 issues
That sucks mate. I'm still having a few question marks over mine too, but I'm putting it down mostly to inexperience on my behalf. I've just spent a few hours mucking with my Hawkeye - shaving bits off the stock to guarantee barrel clearance, thorough clean, snipped a little off the trigger spring (...

Re: 39 gr blitz kings trouble grouping
Very nice.
I've loaded a few up to start testing, but the wind doesn't look like its gonna let up for a while.
Glad you got them to group well

Re: Help...204 issues
I borrowed my dad's torque wrench. It's pretty old. Australian made Warren & Brown. Goes to 180"lb. Only problem is I don't have a screw tip that fits. Gonna have to visit the old fella again soon, see if he has one.

Re: Question about the Berger 40gr Varmint BT
Thanks fellas. My main quarry is foxes - a lot smaller than coyotes so I was wondering how quickly the Bergs would expand. Anyone used them on foxes?

Re: Question about the Berger 40gr Varmint BT
While we're on Bergers - anyone got an opinion on how they behave on critters in comparison to the 39BKs?
I have some 35Bergs. Heard they are generally very good on accuracy but wondered if they are very explosive, or do they penetrate more than the poly tips?
