Re: Primer of Choice?
The CCI 450s work fine in all the 204 loads I've tested. I switched over to them because, for some reason BR-4s are hard to get in my area. Gacop, Iam working up some loads using the CCI 450's as well. Question, are you loads near max-charge? I think alot of the loads are worked up not using the Ma...

Savage LRPV Action Screw Torque
The Savage LRPV has 3 Actions Screws . When replacing the action into the stock in what sequence do you tighten the screws. :chin: I have looked in the manual but didn't see any Specific directions for the LRPV action in the H&S Precision Stock . :?: Do you have a specific tightening sequence th...

Re: holding a group at range
Try a Lee collet die. The collet die gives me excellent low neck runout when I use it. I believe your accuracy would also improve if you got away from that gawd awful Hornady brass. I use fully prepped Winchester. GaCop, I have a friend @ the Gun Club that is using the Hornady Brass with good succe...

Re: Sending a Savage 204 back Into Savage
It is a common problem for the H&S Precision stocks. I have two of them and the .204 hit hard and the 6mmBR was real close. Fiberglass sands fairly easy. It was not worth my time to return. WOW, so the name H&S PRECISION is a Mis-Nomer. No precision in the manufacture of the Stock? If i had...

Re: Sending a Savage 204 back Into Savage
Sometimes the barrel nut can be a bear to remove the first time around. I modified my barrel vise into an action vise and have no problems removing a factory installed barrel nut now. I use a Wheeler nut wrench. I love the Savage for the ease of barrel changes. Their inherent accuracy is a boon too...

Re: JB Bore Paste
I have used JB Bore Paste on an Magnum Rifle sparingly. I have used Wipe-out and give it time to work and the bores have come out very clean. On some occasions i leave it overnight. The Magnum Rifle took alot of cleaning to get the fouling out and that was why i used the JB Bore Paste on it. I do be...

Re: Seating Flat Based Bullets
VLD chamfer! You'll be very glad you did! Not perfect, but waaay better than standard chamfer.. and its a very cheap solution. Ok, going to borrow one from a fellow reloader and prep the remaining 150 cases and give it a try. If this cures my loading it's going on the Christmas list. :) I now have ...

Re: Sending a Savage 204 back Into Savage
Jo2009 The Savage i purchased was the Savage Model 12 LRPV ruger 204 . Savage Advertising is saying that this is a tack driveing LRPV rife, It is a Single Shot, Left Port. I was under the opinion that this rifle woud reflect that in its quality of workmanship. With the barrel touching the stock @ th...
