Re: Took my Cooper out during The Doldrums
Ya know, Rick, those no-nutted rifles can't reproduce in the safe without their "boys" intact, so you may wanna rethink that "no-nuts" thing.

Re: Lets test your diagnostic know how!!!!!
I'm glad you got it worked out. Rifles can be frustrating, especially when the rig SHOULD be problem free. Bedding blocks are supposed to cure all ills, and they help a lot, IF they are perfect. If they aren't perfect, all bets are off. Bedding, in general, though, is one of the easier things to fix...

Re: Lets test your diagnostic know how!!!!!
It sorta sounds like the bedding block may be warped. That's not uncommon, even with HS stocks, let alone B&C. OR, it could be the bottom metal isn't seating properly, not uncommon with CZs, I'm told (haven't had that issue on my three). Which bullets are you using? The Kevlar Varmints are usual...

Re: Ruger Model 77
The old rifles won't fit the new stocks, there are a BUNCH of differences in the actions. The older rifles will hold 5 30/06s down in the mag, the newer (Mk II and later) will only hold four, the older stock is a lot deeper for the deeper magazines. Then, there's the tang area, as Rick has already a...

I don't know what it is, but I know who knows Email kevin@weaverrifles.com and ask him, he does a lot of custom work on CZs, and he'll know if anyone does.

Re: CZ 527 American 221 Fireball.
Forgot to answer your stock question. I don't know of any good aftermarket stocks except the Kevlar Bell and Carlson stock CZ puts on some of the Varmint models, but CZ can sell you stocks with fancier wood, for a premium, about $300, give or take a few $$. Honestly, though, most CZ Fireballs I've s...

Re: CZ 527 American 221 Fireball.
Both Glen and Glenn, the moderators here, have CZ Fireballs   Both of us seem to favor the load my buddy came up with, 18.5 Reloader Seven and a 50gr.whicheveryouchoose. They are very forgiving for most bullets. I bought mine, brought it home, cleaned the barrel, mounted a scope and took ...

Re: CZ ACTION SMOOTHING ?
Well, hmmmmmm :chin: does it run rough with the magazine completely out of the rifle? If so, it MIGHT be a burr on the bolt stop, or something similar to that. If it just does that with the magazine IN the rifle, loaded or empty, it might be that the bolt is bumping the back of the follower, but tho...

Re: CZ ACTION SMOOTHING ?
The feeding geometry and the sharp shoulder don't have very much leeway because of the long case, the shoulder kinda bumps the ramp into the barrel, and it can't move much to slip over and up into the chamber. Smoothing up the rails of the magazine might help here, too. I haven't gotten around to th...

Re: CZ ACTION SMOOTHING ?
Can you elaborate on what your issues are? If it's just feeding, leave the magazines loaded for a while, eventually, they'll loosen up a bit and feed a bit smoother. I personally think the .204 is the absolute maximum length for those short actions, and that may cause a little roughness. I leave my ...

Re: When did Remington....
It's been quite awhile back. Whittaker's had a rack queen there for a long time, at the really great price of $439, for at least a year or two. I passed it by several times, and that was at least two years back. Someone finally must have bought it...... I think it was there in 2005, as I bought my C...

Re: In need of a .204
Sorry, new to this site, what do u mean by " I have a PM"? I am leaning towards the Howa 1500 series, they seem pretty affordable and appear to be a quality firearm. I'm just a little hesitant considering I've never shot a Howa in any caliber and never heard of them until a couple months ...

Re: In need of a .204
In any brand, some will fall thru the cracks and be stinkers, Remington seems to generate more complaints than other brands, here, at least, but if I liked Remingtons better, I wouldn't be afraid to buy one. I just don't like the typical short bolt handle on them, and prefer the longer bolt handles ...

Re: marlin 17hmr scope?
I have a Burris Fullfield II on my HMR. It has the Ballistic Plex reticle, which is set up perfectly for the 17gr. VMax bullet. That's lucky, because that's the ammo the rifle prefers. I've made kills on PDs at 250 yards, using the Ballistic Plex reticle, so it works like it's supposed to. The Burri...

You also might try washing the funnel in dishwashing soap, then let it dry withOUT rinsing.
