I've read the books (all of them!) about Bob Lee Swagger, and his father, and they are pretty entertaining, and technically pretty darned close, which is plenty rare enough. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I guess I'll wait it out. Thanks for the heads up, though.

I'm guessing that the brass got brittle over time, it happens sometimes. If you didn't have any trouble before, when it was "young", that's about all it could be. You might be over-resizing the brass???? too, I rarely if ever run the sizer down all the way to the shellholder, if you do it ...

Maybe he was talking about sharing a pinch of Skoal :? I like the mint flavored pouches, myself, but I ain't sharin' any of it with a nutcase like him. And, of course, with JJ egging him on, he had to say something outrageous. I can think of several of those rent-a-protest types that need a good old...

"no matter what i seem to try i cant get a consistant 5 shot group under .4 of an inch. 1/2 inch is no problem and theres 3 load combos i have managed to get down to this size but i cant get under it" Those results are excellent for any factory rifle and barrel, if we are realistic about t...

The word has been out for a while now, since they were introduced, anyway. 40 VMs have been "iffy" in accuracy from the git-go, they were the "next closest thing" and have proven themselves to be very accurate, and less fussy to get shooting well in most rifles. With the high BC ...

My little CZ has a 21.9" barrel,( according to them), and runs roughly 250fps slower than my Savage 26" barrel. There can be significant velocity loss with a shorter pipe. I was surprised it was that much, to tell the truth, but no matter, it still kills stuff. Considering the speeds your ...

Adjusted for inflation, gas is cheaper now than in 1973, during the Arab oil embargo, the first time they realized they had us over a barrel. Right now there is NO reason for the higher prices, other than a lack of refining capacity. Environmental concerns (Not In My Back Yard) haven't allowed new r...

Thanks for rubbing it in, acloco, you know I couldn't go pdoggin' this year, because of the nephew's wedding   . Since you invited me to go along if I could get away, I'll let it go. Anyways, with all that greenery, did you get any of the rain that swamped out Topeka KS and points east? I ...

I'm not skeptical about the Handi-rifles, I just don't like the extra work, breaking them open, catching the cases, dropping in another shell, closing it up, trying to get it right on the bags, cocking the rifle, firing the shot, repeating the whole thing over and over....... Call me lazy

Purely from a brass availability viewpoint, the 6x45 shines pretty bright. It would be hard to pass up all that good .223 stuff lying around, there isn't enough difference in performance to go thru all the PITA of finding good .222 Mag brass for necking up. That's just my view, limited though it is....

I've shot AT eggs at egg shoots down in Somerset KY, it's awfully challenging  200yds-factory class 300yds-light custom 400 yds-heavy custom. There are several egg shoots across the eastern states throughout the summer, tough business. Luckily, I just go to visit with my the other shooters.......

If Illinois could throw Chicago out of the state, that would go a long way into cleaning up their politics, and Pike County wouldn't have to pass such resolutions. I like that part of Illinois, nice people, lots of deer and turkeys, and it's only about 120 miles east of home ground in Missouri.
