Re: savage model 25

Assuming the barrel is threaded into the receiver, yes. I haven't seen one of the M25s out of the stock, so I don't know if the barrel is threaded into the receiver or not. It's definitely NOT as easy as changing out a barrel on a 10/110 series, but it should be changeable like a Remington, IF it's ...

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups

CZs aren't perfect, mine had roughly the same malady as BCB's, but some Acraglas cured it's off-center barrel pretty well, the mortise for the recoil lug was cut off-kilter. I mentioned that early on, wrote it up here, too. Just like any other brand, of course. QC seems a bit better on some brands t...

Re: Bad .204 ruger groups

Quite honestly, the load you used seems awfully mild and probably not very efficient, to boot. H-335, according to most of the posts here, is rarely mentioned as an accuracy powder in the .204, either, while it works well in .223. I would suggest using different bullets, and faster powders, and get ...

Re: Small rifle Primers

Exactly NONE of the major mail-order places have any primers at all, and I expect, after this weekend, that my own source will sell all they have (this is the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot weekend, and they'll sell out of most everything). I stocked up when the stocking was good. I suggest everyone d...

Jamie, I live in Louisville, what part of southern Indiana are you in? We may be able to meet up and visit a little, if you're not too far out.

Our Canadian members will like this..........

I stole this from another website, the text is that person's not my own. I'm not nearly as gifted with the words.......... From the "two can play that game" dept... The Mayor of Toronto and his pals on city council have been stridently anti-gun, taking it so far as to shut down two gun clu...

Re: Help to pick a factory .204

I agree with the "other Glen". Nice, light, easy to carry, fun to shoot, and easily available in Oz, too. I spend a lot of time at australianhunting.net and hear a lot of wailing about getting equipment into Oz, but CZ has a good distribution system there, and should be easy to get. Mine s...

Re: Brass For Sale Again

I think it was just misdirection, to take the eyes off the Armed Pilot program, which he de-funded at the same time. He's a slick sonuvagun, and that's pretty much par for him. He started the fuss about making vets pay for medical coverage, then signed the budget bill, before rescinding the VA busin...

Re: Custom Rifle?

Be careful if you call Jim at Northlander. He'll talk the ears off your head  He's a great guy, though, and very prompt at filling orders, unlike some other places. He sold me the barrel on my Savage currently, it's been a good one, too.

Re: Bipods

I'm "short for my weight", too, and I think I'd go with the 6-9" also. I currently have two S-BR Harris bipods I use off the bench, but they are a bit uncomfortable when prone. No problems when I was in better shape. Actually, prone shooting in general isn't any fun any more.............

Re: Help Picking A SAVAGE

I'm not a thumbhole stock fan, so my choice would probably be the VLP or the LRPV. I like both rifles a lot, and think the VLP is the best stock Savage makes. That's highly subjective, though, and my opinion only. I DO like the LRPV action, and the right bolt/left port convenience of it all, but I m...

Re: 204 Ruger VS 22-250

I don't think anyone will argue that the heavier bullets of the .22/250 will hit harder way out yonder, weight and momentum favor the heavier bullets. Trajectories will favor the .204 at those distances mentioned, but with less "thump" when it gets there.

Re: 50 Nosler primed and ready

My CZ isn't fond of the heavier bullets, try the 32s with Benchmark, they should make you smile till your face hurts. Varget is awfully slow for the .204 case, if you have some H-4895, it might be more beneficial to your group sizes with the 39 Sierra. No one I know personally, has had much success ...

Re: Savage Model 12 LP stock worth anything?

Sharpshooter Supply sells them for about $175, so yes, they ARE worth something. I think they are the best stock Savage puts out, personally. Put it in our "for sale" section, and see if anyone bites. I'd like to have it, but I'm trying to pay off some bills before buying anything new.
