Since the 17hmr isn't that effective out way beyond 150 yds i put a leupold rifleman 4 x 12 x 40 on my ruger stainless. i just hold a little high since the trajectory is fairly flat throughout that range. I have a standard Model 77 MArk ii in the 204 and just had the trigger replaced with a timney to about a pound. I haven't had it at the range yet (except for 1 very windy day) so i ca't truly tell if increased accuracy at all. After a couple of days at the range if its not shooting sub .75 i am thin...
