I can barely see my bench! 338 LM to .17 Hornet. It’s nice not having to be in a rush. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
RL7 has its place, but not in a .204 or any case larger.

Re: CZ 527 Varmint
chieffel s has not been online here for a week now. He has not checked his post since putting it up here, so must not have any real interest in the forum or his rifle and potential loads. Unless he comes back on, it appears to be a waste of time answering with quality answers for someone who really...

Re: The coming New Year
Big life change coming up for me soon in 2021. I'll have plenty of free time for brass prep, loading and a bit of traveling. Who knows, I might even get far enough west for you guys to school me on how my Cooper should really be shot. Happy New Year to everyone!

Re: Rifle advice!
I had a TC Icon Precision Hunter. Heavy laminated stock, heavy fluted 1-10" barrel. Shot lights out with everything except 40 gr Noslers. It didn't like to shoot right after a thorough cleaning but after it fouled it was great. Good luck with your purchase and welcome to the club!!! (and be sur...

Re: Not much happening on site
Went to visit my family in South Dakota over the 4th. Took the CZ 204 and the 20 VT. Roll up to our favorite dogtown about 20 minutes from my parents place. Hardly any dogs. Looks more like a pasture than a prairie dog town. We counted over a dozen burrowing owls. Don't know what caused their popula...

Thanks for the hard work RIO! A little "captcha" would stop the bots. Go out and terminate something small and furry with extreme prejudice.

Re: Shooter's Proshop Nosler 34gr 204 Blems On Sale
I have four boxes of the same thing sold by MidwayUSA as "DogTown". I loaded some test rounds with Benchmark for my CZ. I'll shoot them tomorrow and see what happens. Heading back to see my family in South Dakota over the 4th, may have another bullet to accompany the SBK's.

Re: Hornaday brass
I bought some of that bagged brass a while back. It's Nosler seconds. That's why it's bagged and not in Nosler boxes. Lengths and weights are all over the place. It's not the "sorted, trimmed, ready to load" high quality brass you get when you buy "firsts". I've been shooting it ...

Re: Vortex 6-24x50 PST
I have an HST. It's the same as yours. Shims just stop it close to where your zero is, not the marks on the scope.

Re: Rifle advice!
If money was no object, then Cooper or Sako. Mine is a CZ527 varmint with Vortex glass. Reasonable price, for me, and shoots fantastic. Rick in Oregon pointed me in that direction. It was solid advice. Best of luck with whatever you end up with, this is a FUN caliber to shoot!

Re: TAC loads
Don't have that rifle but I found this:
TAC 32 SIE BK Start:26.0 3,700 FPS max:28.5 4,100 FPS 58,100
TAC 40 HDY V-Max Start:24.0 3,300 FPS max:27.0 3,680 FPS 56,000
** USE THESE LOADS WITH CAUTION!! *** Reduce starting loads by 10% and work up safely.

If you get it and it's not accurate, rebarrel it and turn it into a 20 VT.

Re: New CZ 527 Varmint, mini range report
Finally got some pretty decent weather so I spent some time shooting a few test loads in the new CZ and the Cooper 20 VarTarg. The CZ really likes 26.2 grains of Benchmark behind a 32 gr SBK! there's a tad of horizontal stringing but it's still 1/2" edge to edge (the squares are 1/2 x 1/2). Fiv...
