Re: search is over

That's funny I thought the Consensus was that the best load for most 204s is re10x and 39sbks. Both of my 204s prefer this combo. Very simple load work up for both. Yup, mine too. I have 2 loads I'm using. 24.7 grains that give a little less energy but groups of .317" and a hunting load, a tou...

Re: Leupold oopsie

Dennis- Like the others have said, their customer support is awesome. That alone is a major selling point for their scopes. You have a lifetime scope there.

Re: Parallax Question

I bought a Savage 116 that came with a cheap Swift scope on it. The parallax was so bad I had a hard time getting any kind of consistent group. I wound up putting a Sightron SII fixed parallax and it made a world of difference.

Re: World record elk--(if you say so)

I couldn't agree more Rick. We have a baiting ban here in Michigan because they found CWD in a deer. I'd guess about 60-70% of the hunters are still baiting. I find it a challenge to get close to a nice buck by actually using hunting skills. There has been many times I let them walk just so I can hu...

Re: World record elk--(if you say so)

I know this thread is a little old, but I just got on the forum and have to add my two cents. As I get close to finishing my first year as a Conservation Officer (game warden) I've already lost all interest in trophy status. After seeing the great lengths (illegal and/or unethical) that people go t...

The Rules of Gunfighting

Drill Sergeant Joe B. Fricks Rules For A Gunfight 1. Forget about knives, bats and fists. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring four times the ammunition you think you could ever need. 2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammu...

Re: Prefered Scope finish?

I tend to agree with you guys. For hunting, matte is the way to go, but for toys silver is fine. I have a Savage 17HMR in stainless and a gray laminated stock. The silver scope with nickel rings looks sweet.

Re: Useing air pressure to skin big game?

I guess it would work if you had a place to do it with power and a compressor. Might be tough in the mountains.

One of my buddies used to have elk. One was a dandy 6x6 and some guy stopped by and offered him $10k to shoot it. Real sportsman huh?

Re: OT: Computer Question for the experts out there.....

I got rid of my bikes. I had 4 at one time. My saying was, "If you don't fall down, you're not going fast enough". As for video editing, 99% of the stuff I do is Standard Definition but the HD generation is just about here. Speed isn't really as much a factor as memory. A big L2 cach...

BillC- I built my last 2 machines myself also. My next one will be a rockin' quad core.
