Re: 2012 archery harvest
Thanks! I got a call from the taxidermist that he's ready and I should have him home late next week. I'll get some better pictures at that time and post them up.

Re: Are "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" any good???
I have one of Richard's stocks on a 10/22. As others mentioned, the stocks come fairly rough and with plenty of wood to work with. If you're the type who likes to tinker around and put your own personal touch on projects, give Richard's a close look. You'll get a quality stock for the money and I am...

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'll snap some better pictures when I get him back from the taxidermist.
Gube - Yes, I do love the Lumenoks. I wish Pope & Young didn't hold that against people, but it's their rules and their club.

2012 archery harvest
http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww281/mrmikefreese/2012archerybuck.jpg I was thrilled to harvest this guy on Saturday evening. I rattled him into a bean field at noon that day, but couldn't get him to come in close enough to seal the deal. Fortunately, he made another appearance that night and w...

Re: nightfoce owners
I'd be happy to measure mine when I get home this evening if someone doesn't beat me to it today. Do you just want the outside diameter?

Re: Morning in the Office
Okay Mike, first question for the interview.......How good are you at loading 10-22 and 1911 .45 magazines? :chin: Oregon is not hard to find, just get in your truck and point it west, stop when you get to the water. :D Rick, you could say that I've loaded a magazine or two in my day. I've got a li...

Re: 204 or another donor to eventually convert to 20VT
I've never PD hunted before so I could use more insights on what people like. Seems a repeater would be advantageous but perhaps it in't. I can't afford to put more than $1000 into a project, so a Cooper 20vt is out. Making a 20 VT on the cheap seems like more of a pain in the neck the more I look ...

Re: 204 or another donor to eventually convert to 20VT
Mike, you can single load repeater actions just as quick as a single-shot set up. The repeater adds more flexability, IMO. Perhaps I haven't used enough of them in dog towns. The few I have tried often times forced me to fiddle with the round before it would feed properly into the chamber, while th...

Re: 204 or another donor to eventually convert to 20VT
I can't add any more to the discussion about cartridges, but I'd like to hear a bit more about your intended shooting. If I was strictly punching paper and prairie poodles, a repeater would not be on my radar. A single-shot (like a Cooper ;) ) will be a lot faster to work from a shooting table in ho...
