Why does the any level of Gov't give a crap about doing something about the high gas prices...They are all getting more TAX MONEY from these HIGH gas prices. Here in Washington, there was talk about lifting the state tax, but the Liberal Governor put the stop to that FAST. Just think about it...Eve...

When I was making $1.75 and hour gas cost .36 cents, now I make $33 an hour and gas costs $3.34 do the math. I'm more interested in how much the cost of ammo is going up! After all this IS the .204 forum. :offtopic: Gary Gary, the logic doesn't flow with that one. You're not taking into account you...

There was a thing on TV awhile back where one oil company sold it's highest profit refinery in Calif. to another oil company that promptly shut it down so they could bring in refined gasoline from another of their refineries and charge higher prices. This may well be true, but I'd take anything I s...

There's really no logic to this. So you don't buy gas on Tuesday...so what? Wednesday everyone resumes buying gas and life goes on. Other than an attempt to make people feel like they're doing something, what's the point? Now the demand for crude oil is something that does make sense. Developing cou...

Decent PD numbers in Nebraska???
Some friends and I are putting together a PD hunt for early June. Right now, we're leaning toward eastern Wyoming as our destination but still kicking around some other ideas. We're coming from Missouri, so we'd be driving right through Nebraska on our way. I've done some research on Nebraska, but h...

As most have already said, it's about impossible to argue against the .270's and .30-06's of the world. They're two of the most popular chamberings around for good reason and you can pick up a box of ammo anywhere. Knowing all of that, I still choose to use a Browning A-bolt in .300 Win Mag with a B...

Re: Cooper Advice
After waiting 6 months for a new Sako 85, I was informed this PM that it will be at least another two to three months. I can not wait that long. I have been thinking about a Cooper Montana Varminter. The only thing holding me back is the weight. My Sako 75 is 8 5/8 lbs. The Cooper is 7.25 lbs. I am...

Sorry to hear about your initial experience with the new rifle, Wade. Are you going to send it off to Remington so they can look it over? If you decide to swap it out for a different rifle, I'd strongly encourage you to look at the Coopers that you mentioned. Mine will absolutely drive tacks and I h...

Won't do you much good to buy a tack-driver if you can't see what you're shooting at. I hear ya'... If I have to, I'll sell a rifle to finance the scope purchase. Good luck in your search. Sounds like Savage and CZ both offer some fine guns that would fit your needs nicely. Where in MO are you loca...

I'm limiting myself to $500-$600, for the whole package. I'll probably ending up fudging on that a little, since I'm gonna need a nice scope to top 'er off with. Make sure to set aside an adequate amount for your scope. Won't do you much good to buy a tack-driver if you can't see what you're shooti...

Scott, Thank you very much for taking the time to make this thread. I appreciate your insights. Here's my situation: I'm looking for a new scope for my Cooper in .204. The gun will be used on the bench and prairie dog fields (no stalks or still hunts), so I want higher magnification. I was intereste...

Check out your other post for Question #1. http://www.rugerhunting.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2552 I think you probably have more than enough scope. I had a 3.5 to 14 VX-L on a Remington XR-100 chambered in .22-250 and used it a few days in Western Kansas on PDogs. I had more money (call it credit) ...
