yeah, i plan on shooting competetive for a while. but trap can get boring so i think i am going to try skeet, i have ran a couple 25's in skeet but never 100 I always thought skeet was easier than trap because you've got the exact same shot at each station every time you step into the box. Essentia...

Re: Back from my first prairie dog hunt...

Congrats on your first trip and your success. I am going again next weekend for a couple days. I don't have to worry so much about how I pack because I stay at my sisters place and she has thousands of acres from which to shoot on all around her house. I'm so mobile I store my shooting table at the...

Rick: I will have one of your benches before my next hunt! I just need to save up my pennies for a while to make it happen.

Warning though, it's pretty addictive! (But you've probably already figured that out....) You're not kidding! I've barely been back a week and am plotting my next adventure. I loved Wyoming and didn't mind the drive but I'd also like to find some new locations that would allow me to take wee...

Excellent work! You should be very proud of that one.

On a side note, I lived in Castle Rock during the fall of 2000. It's a neat area.

Back from my first prairie dog hunt...

Wow, what an incredible experience. I went to Wyoming with some friends and had a great time shooting prairie dogs. I learned a lot and got to really test out the .204 in some wide open spaces. My friends were shooting .223's, .243's and a .22-250 while I had the lone .204. I can honestly say that I...

Nice write-up, Guy. I've got a brake on my Browning .300 Win Mag and wouldn't have it any other way. That gun is quite tame compared to a friend's Ruger .270 with their skeletonized synthetic stock. That gun kicks like a mule (for a .270).

I like the first four pictures, but that last one appears to be Hillary Clinton's campaign poster... or is that Bill??? Originally, I thought the last picture was from the pages of a French military operations guide. Upon closer inspection, you might be right though. The white flag threw me.

Why have all the major oil companies showed record profits?
Can you elaborate on this?

I'm not trying to be an antagonist, I'm enjoying reading other people's views on the issue.

Wonder why the automakers have not jumped on fuel prices with efficient cheap cars like the geo metro and festiva. To some extent, auto manufacturers are addressing this issue. You've got to keep in mind the time that it takes an auto company to bring a vehicle from concept to showroom. The Big 3 m...

Portable shooting benches

I'm looking for a new portable shooting bench to take out in the prairie dog fields. I'd like to hear some feedback from you about what you've used that was good, bad and indifferent. As much as I'd love to have one of Rick's benches, that's simply not in the cards for me right now. I'm looking for ...

Record profits for Big Oil, "but we're not gouging prices....really....." Yeah, right....... Rick, I've got to respectfully disagree with this statement. Basic economics teaches us that supply and demand set prices in an open market. Oil is traded on the open market, where the demand has ...
