Re: Portable shooting benches
Thanks for the info, Rick! I am looking forward to your review in the coming months. Initially, I was interested in the RCBS R.A.S.S. bench as well. Then I saw that it wasn't available with a table top. I don't understand why RCBS made that decision, but that made it a deal-breaker for me. That's a ...

Re: Looking for a new 204??
That's a nice looking Savage! Personally, I wish that they would have made the bottom of the magazine fit flush with the stock. Otherwise, it's a beautiful rifle. And I'm sure that it will drive tacks.

Re: BR Pivot shooting bench
I posted in another section, but I'll repeat here since it fits with the topic. I saw the same clip on G&A last night, so I called Midway today to inquire about the Caldwell "BR Pivot" bench. I spoke with a rep who told me that production was delayed and that she didn't know when the b...

Re: Portable shooting benches
I wanted to bump this thread. Last night I saw a clip on TV (I think that it was Guns & Ammo TV) showing Caldwell's new pivoting shooting bench. It was a dead ringer for Rick's BR Pivot, so I assume it's the one Rick mentioned selling the patent to last year. Anyway, I've tried to find this benc...

Re: Trying to decide on what .204 is the best
A sub-caliber shot: For a 204 that would be a shot group under .204 measured from the center of the shot. For a visual description the second and third shot essentially feather the edges of the first shot by .102 or less. Under that circumstance the centers for shot two and three would be less then...

Glad to hear that you're having such good luck with the Howas. What's a sub-caliber shot group?Sub-caliber wrote:I also have a Cooper 204 and a Cooper 22-250 neither of which can outshoot the Howas which will all manage sub-caliber shot groups.

Re: Help a complete noob
Gentlemen, I sincerely appreciate your help. I've been looking around at Midway for some dies and think I know what I need. Using this as an example, do I need other dies or will this cover me: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=666175&t=11082005 Thanks again, you g...

Help a complete noob
I'm getting ready to order my first set of dies to start reloading for the .204 (with the help of a friend). Please forgive the ignorance of my post, but if I don't ask I won't learn. I want to get a neck-sizing die so that I can use fire-formed brass without resizing it (I hope I said that right :?...

Re: Last Fall's Buck
Melvin, thanks for sharing the pictures. You have some beautiful deer mounts for sure. I thought that I noticed at least one doe on the wall as well. May I ask the significance of the doe(s)? Did you mount her for aesthetic purposes or does she have some personal significance? She looks good on the ...

Re: P-dog hunting, depends on climate? Year round?
For those of you who have never been on the Malta, Montana bench, in the winter, WITH the wind blowing....well..it is the second coldest place on earth. #1 coldest place on earth has ALWAYS been Minot, North Dakota....at least in my experience. :) I was just trying to picture what that experience m...
