Re: Another Pawn Shop Treasure
Well Mike ......'ya know, I just don't know......why ARE you in a place you're not happy? (Yeah, I know....life gets in the way sometimes, just yankin' yer chain. ;) ) But sorry to hear you're 'Pawn Shop Deprived'. :? Missouri isn't too bad, really. We have some nice whitetails (see Big Game thread...

Re: Another Pawn Shop Treasure
Man, oh man, Rick. Not only do you live in the heart of Skippy country, but your pawn shops are also leaps and bounds better than ours. Reming me, again, why I'm still in Missouri?

Re: Am I on track with this scope purchase?
mpstan: I'd suggest a scope in the same price range, but with a much better/different warranty.....a Luepold VX2 with their LR Varmint Reticle....duplex reticle with two lower has marks for LR. The Varmint Hunter Reticle is only available in their VX3 scopes, about another $100 more than the VX2. I...

Re: Am I on track with this scope purchase?
Will I be happy with 6-24 with my 204? I can't offer any insights on the Nikon, but that magnification range in general should suit you well. I don't use more than ~18x on PD shoots, unless it's early or late enough in the day that heat waves aren't causing issues with my sight picture at higher ma...

Re: Want AR do I even bother trying to find something?
TD, I have a couple of thoughts on the matter. First, I do not believe the upper end AR market has been affected by price as much as the lower and middle segments. If you want a high-end AR, you shouldn't feel too bad about buying one today and getting raked over the coals. Second, you have to look ...

As promised, here is the finished result. I can't take credit for the scarf, though. That is 100% my wife's "contribution".

Re: OLD F.S. & W.T.T. etc.
I didn't know that users could remove threads? I agree it is common courtesy to update a thread when an item sells, but sometimes people get side-tracked and forget. Especially if they post items for sale in multiple forums. While sometimes frustrating, I chalk it up as part of the deal when shoppin...

Re: Any idea,s how to purchase A COOPER
I recall reading somewhere that Cooper ships rifles to New Zealand, but do not remember where I saw that. If you're serious about laying hands on a Cooper, the absolute best route to take is to call the company directly. Emails are ok, but phone calls are a lot more efficient in my experience.

+1 to what Glen said.
Some details about the build would be nice, too. What kind of rifle are you using and what's the new barrel?

Re: 20 VarTarg Questions?
As usual, Rick's insight is spot-on. I've come across a few phenomenal deals on rifles, but I've turned over a whole lot of rocks to find them. The keys, in my opinion, are patience and persistence with a bit of luck sprinkled in. If you're always keeping an eye out for deals, you'll eventually find...

Re: 20 VarTarg Questions?
If small and different trip your trigger, you might check out the new .17 Winchester Super Magnum. In no way would I suggest it as a coyote round, but aside from that you may want to look it over. I believe Savage will be the first company to produce a rifle in the .17 WSM and I'm not sure when they...

Re: 20 VarTarg Questions?
Bodei....I have a CZ 527 "Varmint" with the longer/heavier barrel in the .204 already,I was wanting something lighter and shorter in a different Caliber to take out Coyote,Bobcat and Fox Hunting! :chin: For your intended use, I have to agree with Rick and suggest that you move up in cartr...
