BR Pivot at Midway
I just noticed that Midway has the BR Pivot listed on its web site. As previously discussed, there are two models: wood top and plastic top. There is no mention of a lightweight version, so I assume that these two models are based off of Rick's standard BR Pivot. If so, I must admit that I'm a bit d...

Re: Nightforce VS. Leopold
I want to buy a new scope for Pds which one? They're both excellent scopes, so you won't make a poor choice either way. IMHO, the Nightforce (BR or NSX) is better than the Leupold VX-III. I don't think many people would argue that statement. The real question is whether the NF is several hundred do...

Re: Basic P.D. hunting questions
I’ve got a distant relative in Wyoming who says to come any time I want. But he doesn’t shoot dogs, so he’s not sure when is the best time to go there. Can anyone from up that way advise on when to go there? Dan, I went to Wyoming last year in mid-June and had a fantastic time....

Re: Looking for a new way...
Disclaimer: I would never knowingly advocate something that would help sneak a new gun into the house without the wife's prior approval. Now, with that out of the way... As the weather improves, it's time to take a little trip to the range. You should probably bring along several guns so that you ca...

Re: Kansas, Nebraska, SD Prairie Dogs
another 200 miles west.......... So I should be focusing my efforts around the state line (perhaps Johnson City area). In your experience, are places to hunt hard to come by? When I went to Wyoming, I didn't have much trouble finding places. I wonder if it's the same in Kansas? Thanks for your help...

Re: Kansas, Nebraska, SD Prairie Dogs
Are there any prairie dog towns around Pratt, KS? That area would be convenient for me to get to, but I haven't found much about dog downs out there. Thanks!

Re: Kansas, Nebraska, SD Prairie Dogs
Thanks, Hotshot! I appreciate that info. I have been looking around Gregory, SD, which isn't too far from Valentine. Seems like that area has some good prairie dog populations. In a totally unrelated topic, I'm making a trip up to Missoula late this summer for vacation. I'd like to see Northwestern ...

Kansas, Nebraska, SD Prairie Dogs
I'm starting to put together a prairie dog hunt for 2008. Last year I had a phenomenal time in Wyoming and will definitely go back. However, I'd like to find some other places that are a bit closer to home (Southwest Missouri) that I could visit more than once a year. I'm not looking for anyone to g...

Re: Looking for places to hunt PD in Wyoming
Rugerdog, just trying to protect my own hunting areas, I have been hunting in that area for years, and until last year when someone posted online about it being a good area, I almost would never see anyone else all day long ! Last year we actually had people following us and had shots fired in our ...

Re: Ruger M77 Hawkeye
Absolutely! In the unlikely event that you get a dud from Ruger, I wouldn't worry for a second that the company wouldn't take care of you. Ruger's customer service is among the best that I've ever seen.Rick in Oregon wrote:Ruger makes a solid product, and they stand behind it.

Re: Portable shooting benches
Mike: I see they have a real el cheapo bench available now, a spindly version of mine, in the "entry-level" price range. Someone here posted that they saw a replica of mine on Guns & Ammo TV that was listed at $600 or thereabouts. I'll check with them today and see if they have any ne...

Re: Portable shooting benches
Mike: Funny you should mention the lack of top on the RCBS unit; many shooters contacted me about my bench just before I sold the patent, and all of them commented that the lack of a 'real' bench top was the deal-breaker for them too. It appears RCBS should reconsider an alternate top portion for t...
