White Oak .204 Upper
I'm out of room in the safe and need to thin a few things out. I have a 24" White Oak Armament Varmint upper in .204 ruger with a 1:12 twist and fluted option. Round count is under 50. It was purchased about a year ago during my "black" rifle phase but I have since reverted to the bol...

Re: powder funnel & shell holder for 204
I would get one of the aluminum powder funnels specific to the .204 from Sinclair.

Really like the one I have.

Re: Too Fast? 10x and Nosler
Bill:
Cut the load down to 25.25 gr of 10x and got three shots into a 1/4" group. It was 90 degees and the velocities were still 4,100ish...little confused if the hot weather raised velocity to the same area as a 1.25 grains less powder?

Too Fast? 10x and Nosler
So I went out to shoot my Cooper 204 yesterday with the new Nosler BTLF 32 gr yesterday. I used my typical 26.5 gr of reloader 10x and remington primers. I setup a new chronograph (Competition Electronics) to record a few velocities. First three shots came in at 4,219, 4246, and 4,287. I inspect the...

Cooper Lineup
So here is the "synthetic" Cooper lineup...amazing how these things breed. The top is a .270 that had a fancy wood stock but I parted out for an Excalibur...middle is the Phoenix .204 and bottom is the Jackson Hunter 17hmr. I have a Model 54 .220 swift on order and hopefully that should do...

Re: Tackling Scope Cant
[quote="Silverfox"]Making sure my scope is level with the world is a very tedious job for me. I use Burris Signature Zee rings for all my scopes and similar to what RowdyYates and Wrangler John do. I don't really trust the scope caps as being totally in line with the horizontal crosshairs ...

Here is an interesting article I found that has some very good points...

Tackling Scope Cant
I was wondering how you guys tackle scope cant. When I mount a scope I shoulder it to check eye relief and making sure the reticle is level. I have always noticed though when I mount a bipod the crosshairs look noticeably crooked. This past deer season my brother and I a friend were out hunting, whe...

Re: Nosler Lead Free Ballistic Tips Quality
I was in the process of loading and haven't shot them yet. I separated them off to the side.
Thanks for the contact info. I have shot quite a few of them in the past and never really noticed this being an issue.

Nosler Lead Free Ballistic Tips Quality
I recently purchased a couple boxes of Nosler BTLF for my 204. When I was seating the bullets I noticed roughly 1 out of 3 looked like it had the ballistic "tip" shaved off on one side. Has anyone else noticed this? Curious if it has an effect on aerodynamics and in turn accuracy? Seems a ...

Re: 204 twist rate for leadfree bullets
Thanks for the help guys...looks the the 1:12 should work fine. In hindsight I would have gone with the 1:10 but live and learn.

204 twist rate for leadfree bullets
I'm looking at buying a 204 upper from White Oak for my AR. The gun will be used primarily for shooting ground squirrels. I am planning on going with a 24" barrel but had a question related to twist. The lead free bullets (Barnes grenade and Nosler Leadfree BT) are obviously longer than their l...
