Re: Reduced loads and filler

A bit OT but......Loading for a Mauser 71/84, I use an old method for holding the powder against the flash hole. I cut a sheet of bathroom tissue into four squares and use a square pushed into place over the powder using a pencil. That has tightened up my groups with a 387gr lead flat nose and a lig...

Re: 6.5 lapua data needed

Also look at Varget and IMR 8208 XBR. I haven't used 4064 in my 6.5L. If your going to use Berger bullets, send Walt Berger an e-mail for load date for his bullets. He will send you data he's checked on "QuickLoad".

Re: 34gr Dogtown and RL-10X

I agree Bill. I too saw accuracy degrade and a pressure increase on heavier charges. I prefer accuracy to blinding speed too. I'll be doing a 20 round test today to be sure my initial results weren't a fluke.

34gr Dogtown and RL-10X

I'm getting good results with RL-10X/24.5 grains and the Dogtown 34 gr HP's. I'm seating the Dogtowns .008" OTL, BR4 primers and fully prepped Winchester brass trimmed to 1.842". 100 yard groups are averaging .447". Velocity in the mid 3800 fps range. This appears to be a mild load as...

Re: temp sensitivity

"Joe O", what bullet weight are you using with the 8208XBR? I've been wanting to try it in my 204 but don't have any load date.

Re: Finally a great load for the .204

I just started using RL-10X with a 40 grain A-Max and am impressed with the performance and accuracy in a factory Savage barrel.

Re: Question regarding free bore

Not to hijack your thread but, where did you find the 204 modified case for the Hornady OAL tool? Most places that sell these supplies usually have a 204 Modified Case on the shelf with the other calibers. The Nosler Pro Shop usually has them in stock most of the time, as does Sportsmans Warehouse....
