I've got 8208XBR that I use in my 6.5 Lapua. I'll have to give it a try in the 204 too.

Re: My awesome new stock blew apart my groups...
In the long run, it wouldn't hurt to skim bed your action in the new stock. Also, is your tang still free floated with the new stock?

Re: .223 Rem-34 gr DT bullets
I'm shooting them and so far, I have them shooting into 3/4" at 100 yards. I tried 748 loading from 27.4 grains up to 28.1 grains with the 40 gr V-Max and velocities were way low (28.1 grains= 3605 fps) though accuracy was VG. I'll have to give it a try with the Dogtowns.

Re: Prochrono Digital Chronograph
No, the Beta never fell or was knocked around. I built a custom fit plywood carry case for it so it was babied all the while I've had it.

Re: Rests for working up loads
I'm using a Caldwell "The Rock" front rest and a Protector rear bag. I bought my bag empty. I filled it with playground sand from Lowe's. Filling was made easy by a long neck funnel I got at "Wally World" in the automotive department.
Re: FS: NIB Vortex PST FFP 4-16x50 MOA
I was wondering the same thing? Is there something about the Vortex you don't like?

Re: What accuracy can I expect with my 204 Ruger?
It appears to me that 25.7 grains is the best group in that bunch. I'd retest it again and shoot FIVE shot groups to see if it's a fluke. If you had a chronograph, looking at the Standard Deviation and Extreme Spread would give you an indication of the loads potential at long range.

Re: Reloder series powder
I just got to try RE-10x with Sierra 32 BKs. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I actually two rounds keyhole on me... never had that happen before. That particular charge was right in the middle of Sierra's load data range. Nonetheless, I maintain hope for it and the 39 grainers. Of course, I'll a...

Prochrono Digital Chronograph
If anyone is considering the above model chronograph, I can safely say you will not be disappointed. I replaced a Beta Chrony that went belly up and I like the Prochrono Digital for ease of set up. I've had mine for a month now and find the numbers on the unit, mounted on my tripod, are easy to read...

Re: CCI 450 Mag Primers
My local shop sells the CCI 450s for $32/1000. Match primers (all brands) run $45/1000. Looks like I'll be stocking up on 450s.

Re: CCI 450 Mag Primers
The CCI 450s are shooting well with my 40gr V-Max load of 27.1 grains of RL-15 in fully prepped new Winchester brass trimmed to 1.839". Bullets are seated to 2.068" at the ogive, velocity is 3690 fps over a Prochrono digital chronograph 10 ft from the muzzle. group was .360" for five ...

Re: Lands
I use the Hornady OAL gauge to find the distance to the lands or a modified unfired case with a slit made in the neck if a modified case is not available, ie, 223AI. Start with the OCW then tweek the seating depth.

Re: Hello, new guy here.
A warm welcome from Georgia. I was stationed in the UK back in the early 80s at RAF Greenham Common. Sadly, I never made it to the Isle of Man but wish I had. Good to hear you won your fight with the government. You'll really enjoy shooting the 204R, a very accurate cartridge and it will do the job ...
