Re: Remington SPS and TC Pro hunter 204 test
Thanks for the post. I'm also shooting a Remington 700 SPS and had similar results, finding the 32 V-max to give excellent accuracy at any load, but settled at 28.9 grains of H4895. Only modification to the rifle has been the addition of a Boyd's Thumb hole laminate stock.

Re: Z-Max Reloads
What weight/size projectile? From that I'm led to believe the 32 gr Z-max and 32 V-Max are identical, so loads for the 32 gr. V-max would apply. I'm using 28.9gr H4895, Remington cases and Remington 7 1/2 BR small rifle primers.

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
Is there a advantage with the 1:10 twist and shorter barrel than the 26" with 1:12? I'm looking for the most accurate and will not be carring it a long distance. Only if you want to shoot longer, heavier projectiles, as these need a faster twist to stabilize. If you were planning to use only 3...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
The 1:10 twist light barrel would have me sold on the TC.

Re: Varmint 30-06??
On this note I wonder how the 110 gr bullets from Sierra would do in a 308 or 30.06 (wouldn't expect to see exploding coyotes though). Don't really have a need for them, just ended up with a box when someone was transfered from my Navy days just hate to see them go to waste. I used to load the 110g...
Re: Browning A bolt hunter .204
Just a thought, but If you love the way it handles and feels why not consider fitting a custom heavy varmint barrel to the Browning?

Re: Red Fox called in.
This is the toy ball I've been using. It's called in 3 foxes so far and spooked 2 that came in to investigate baits hung from a tree. http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab245/bunny_bucket1/callers/call-ball.jpg The volume is quite a bit louder than my mouth callers and I think that's what spooked a ...

Re: Red Fox called in.
Nice work mate. I often hear my dogs destroying another squeaky and wonder what a fox would think of it. I've seen a few about the place lately too. Might give that a try tomorrow. I'm on southern Eyre Peninsula SA. What about you? Looks like similar country, though most of southern Oz does this ti...

Red Fox called in.
Several weeks ago we moved to a new property so thought I'd do some predator calling. For something novel I decided to try my luck using our pet dog's squeaky toy as a caller rather than the usual tin whistle. http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab245/bunny_bucket1/home-hunting/property1.jpg After ab...

Re: CZ 452 17 HMR
Futuretrades, what are your issues with the 452? Should I ask for a different rifle to replace it??? My biggest issue is feeding issues from the mag into the chamber. When shooting, I always have to keep in mind to push the bolt forward using my thumb, or I get a jam. Do a search on this site, and ...

204 Ruger vs small game
The middle of winter hasn't been without some fine weather and there's been plenty of days to get some trigger time. I do a fair bit of rabbit shooting, both daytime and night, and the 204 Ruger is proving to be a great rabbit gun for those longer shots the rimfires just can't reach. With careful sh...

Shoot 5, or even better, 10 shot groups with each load and the difference will become more obvious.
