Lost My Shooting Buddy
I haven't posted here in a while. Just thought I'd share that one of my best friends and shooting buddies recently died. I met him on a rimfire bb about 12 years ago. Turned out to be not only a great shooting buddy but one of the best friends a person could ask for. I called up his house a couple o...

Re: 34g dogtowns
Bill K, I forgot about this link so I haven't been checking it-just happen to come across it again. I'm out of town salmon fishing in Monterey (caught an 18lb one today). When I get home I'll make an inventory and make a price offer.

Re: Best scope?
The varmints would be of the squirrel/pd variety. I just wanted to see what people think.

Perhaps I said it poorly- didn't mean to offend. Almost all Tikka's shoot. So it follows that yours would too. You just had to find the recipe that yours likes.

If a Tikka wont shoot, the problem is usually between the gun and the chair.

Re: Talk me into (out of) a 20VT
Are you thinking of getting an entirely new gun? If so, I would consider the 221FB, or 17AH. The fireball uses about 18.5gr of RL7 and 15gr of Li'l Gun, the 17AH uses even less powder(I think), or even a KHornet. You can also consider something like loading your 204 with Blue Dot or Trail Boss(I thi...

Re: Factory .204 offerings
Jim-I bet the Tikka barrels are dam good as they are made by Sako. Here is a 5 shot group from my Tikka 595 with a medium heavy barrel... wish I had a twin of this gun in 204.

Re: What range to zero my .204?
I've got mine at just a smidge over @100yds which is then just half a smidge under @200yds. It works perfectly for shootin grounded squirrels, but makes em fly real goodly.

Do your CZ's shoot better...?
For the CZ owners, I pose this query. Have you found that they shoot better after a few hundred rounds have been through them? This seems to be the case with my 452 in 17hmr and my 527 in 221fb. I was not happy in the least with either gun when they were new, but after sending a few hundred rounds d...

Re: Does brass hide out with missing socks?
BTW- I took these loads to the range Wed. to see how well they would perform and shot a 0.6", 5 shot group @ 200yds using a CZ 204 Varmint/6-20x40oa Grand Slam...29.1gr of RL15 and 39gr Sierra BK's. The 221FB(also a CZ) shot a 0.3" group @ 100yds using 40gr BK's and 18.5gr of RL7. No after...

Does brass hide out with missing socks?
I know I should have 300 pieces of 204 brass, but after loading every piece I could find it comes out to only 288 rounds:( I suspect there are some pieces of brass hiding out somewhere with a few of my missing socks!

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?
If only Tikka offered a 204 in varmint garb here in the states... Of all the guns listed, CZ is my first choice as they tend to shoot sub moa with handloads and the set their triggers are adjustable without the need of a gunsmith. Coopers are great guns, they just keep getting more and more expensiv...
