Re: NEED LOAD FOR H4198 AND 39BK?
I was in my local gun shop a while back and bought H4198 instead of IMR4198 thinking I could use it instead. I, like you, then looked for a load and couldn't find it. I called Hodgdon and asked about it. They said they never tested it and didn't recommend it. Even though they're close on the burn r...

Re: .204 and hogs?
Will a 45gr. hollow point put behind the ear of a 150-200# hog take it down? Thanks Phil I shot a 100 lb hog right behind the front leg at 80 yard useing a 32 gn vmax and dropped him in his tracks. He went down like I hit him between the eyes with a sledge hammer. Ha I'm sure that a round at the ba...

Barnes HP Starting with min loads and adding .5gns to each load up to max for each bullet type. After shooting 2 rounds to get on paper I started shooting for groups The first 5...

Re: ACCURACY PROBLEM
Like Camo, I found my rifle (Rem 700) likes a certain COAL, 2.306". My groups went from just under .5" to sub .25" for 5 shot groups at 100yds when I got the COAL dialed in. Not only did I try many powders and bullets but, I also worked with the coal but the best I could get was .75 ...

Re: ACCURACY PROBLEM
The .204 is inheritoly very accurate. With my .204 throughout load development the worst group I got measured 0.502 for a 5 shot group and that was with un fire formed brass! It shoots in the .2 -.3's all day if I do my bit! I'd expect more from my rifle then your getting mate. When did you last cl...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
Their statement about the 5 was that the edges of the rifling were not as sharp as the 6 so it did not damage the bullets as bad which resulted in better accuracy. Just wondering if anyone has this rifle and has seen a difference accuracy? Mack What do you mean by difference in accuracy? As I said ...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
Sorry, I meant a difference in accuracy between rifles using the 5 land and the 6 land rifling.

Re: ACCURACY PROBLEM
No this is the first one that I have owned and maybe the last. Ha! I thought that the single shot break over would be and accurate type of rifle but, not this one. Hope it wasn't the scope which was a BSA PLatinum 8x32. I keep the scope. I sold it today and will be looking for a new rifle soon. Any ...
