ACCURACY PROBLEM
I have had my 204 ruger H&R ULTRA break over for about 8 mths. I have tried H4895, H4198, IMR 82O8 XBR, and IMR 4198 poweds along with 26 gn, 32 gn Hornady, 39 gn BK with no better than 3/4" groups. The scope is tight and I am and experienced reloader and shooter. Ha Have many of you had th...

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
Their statement about the 5 was that the edges of the rifling were not as sharp as the 6 so it did not damage the bullets as bad which resulted in better accuracy.
Just wondering if anyone has this rifle and has seen a difference accuracy?

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
I was reading about the rifling in the TC and they said it had 5 lands instead of 6 that most american guns use. They said the Russian 5 lands was more accurate than the 6.
Any thoughts on this?

Re: Thompson/Center Venture Predator Bolt Action Rifle .204
Is there a advantage with the 1:10 twist and shorter barrel than the 26" with 1:12?
I'm looking for the most accurate and will not be carring it a long distance.

32 VMAX AND IMR 8208 XBR
Has anyone had much luck with this combination,
also the 26 gr. barnes and the 8208 xbr?
If so what powder loads seem to do best?

I see that both of you are seating above the col max of 2.260, is this without problems. If not a
problem, what is the max you can exceed by?

Re: trimming .204 brass**help**
I had the same problem finding the center guide so I took the 22 cal center
that came with my lee trimmer and placed it in a drill and sanded it down to fit the 204. works great!
It was easy to do. Hope this helps.

PROBLEMS WITH EXCEEDING COL of 2.260
What problem will I get from over exceeding col?
I noticed that even with 2.800 the bullet is not touching the lands.
What range should I be looking at on bullet seating depth?

ACCURACY & BULLET SEATING DEPTH?
I know that bullet seating depth is important to accuracy, and I know max lenth of the 204, but what is the max bullet seating depth? Also I know the max case lenth. Does a shorter than max case lenth also affect accuracy? What increments do most of you seat bullet depths at when testing for grouping?
