Re: Lock-Ease for rifle barrels. Information please?
I always do the JB Bore paste/hot water method for the initial cleaning of any new rifle. I was under the impression that bench shooters swabbed their bores with Lock Ease on a patch to simulate a fouling shot instead of actually wasting a round.

Re: IMR 8208
I've gotten the tightest groups with 32gr SBK and IMR-8208 - and my Tikka doesn't like anything heavier than 32gr.

Re: Which bullet to use
Go out and whack one and see for yourself. With that barrel length I would think you'd still be over 3600 fps - I always go for the lung area, not the shoulder. Mine shoots 32gr under 1/2" at 100 yards, it will not shoot 39gr worth a darn.

Re: Tikka T3 Stainless Lite 204 Floating Barrel
I have the Tikka T3 Lite and I can slide a dollar bill between the stock and barrel all the way down to the action. I'll have to see what it does after shooting it a few times in a row.

Re: best loads for the 204
My Tikka T3 seems to only like 32 grains, preferably SBK and IMR-8208. I've tried several loads and the "middle" of the powder range seems to give the best results. However, I still have trouble trying to make any combo shoot better than the factory Hornady 32gr V-Max.

Re: IMR4064 powder
I think 4064 is better suited towards heavier bullets/larger calibers but it's kinda like being in a bar at closing time - you may have to take whatever's available . . .

If you need a spare magazine for your Tikka T3
There'a guy selling short action magazines on fleabay for $42.50 with free shipping. The seller's ID is sportshollowguns and even though the title says 3 rounds, the description down below says it's a 4 round. Mine came today and it's an exact factory match - not like the other auctions wanting almo...

Anyone tried the Nosler Armageddon bullet?
I saw these listed on one of my varmint forums and the users seemed pretty positive about them. I searched here on the word Armageddon and got no hits - anyone tried these yet? Thanks.

Re: cfe-223 powder
How does the CFE-223 compare to IMR-8208-XBR? I've tried several powders and the 8208 works best in my .204 & .223. I'm almost out and was trying to decide on more 8208 or trying the CFE-223.

Thanks Rick, that's what I was going to try if I didn't get any responses.

In what increments do you tweak OAL/ogive to base?
I've found a good load with the 32gr SBK and I've been loading them with an OAL right around 2.255" - 2.260". I could load out to 2.300" if I grease the inside front of the magazine but in what increments do you adjust the OAL or ogive to base in order to see if you can improve? Thanks.

Re: Finally lucked out on a load.
That's interesting. I've been keeping mine around the 2.250" mark. Maybe if I moved it out some I could get the 39gr SBK to shoot a bit better, right now my Tikka only likes 32gr. I went and loaded 4 empty cases at 2.300" and they will fit in the magazine barely. If I could find someone wi...
