I bought a T3 Lite in .204 at Cabelas here in Michigan this past spring - something like a $100 off. This is a little tack driver . . .Vartarg wrote:Are the T3's in .204 even available in the US? I didn't think so.....sure wish they were, I'd have one!

Just remember, alot of accuracy issues depends on the indian - not the arrow.

Re: How is Hornady so fast?
I got around 3850 fps with the Hornady but I have a Tikka 22 1/4" barrel so I expected some drop off. I have no reason to doubt they'll reach 4200+ with a 26" barrel . . .

Re: Ladder testing / load developement
I don't think I'd start out with .1 grain increments unless I had money to throw away. I'd start with 10% increments first throughout the recommended range until you find a load that your rifle likes. Then you might use that as the center of your ladder test - and .1 grain incrememnts above and belo...

Re: CZ vs Tikka
Have no clue what the CZ is like but my Tikka T3 Lite is light as a feather (no pun intended). Even though the trigger weight is adjustable, I bought a lighter varmint spring online and I'm around 1 3/4 pounds with it now - this is a sweet rifle to shoot.

What's the nominal bore diameter for .204?
I would assume the groove diameter on my Tikka T3 is pretty much .204" in diameter but I was wondering what the "bore" diameter or depth of grooves is normally used for these calibers? Thanks.

Which comparitor to check .20 cal?
I'd gotten a Davidson nose and base set for my .243, so I ordered just another nose piece for my .204. The base is suppose to accomodate 3 different cartridge heads but the .20 nose piece is too large (about .468" instead of .378") and the shoulder would have to be at least .160" to r...

Re: COAL
My goal length is 2.240, but have been getting anywhere from 2.238 to 2.242. Just wondering if this is acceptable or not. Having a .004" is reasonable if your using a polymer tipped bullet (what kind of variation do you get by measuring just the bullets only). If you have a comparitor that mea...

Re: What COAL measurements are you using?
I have a Davidson comparitors for 6mm and .20 caliber from Sinclair. If you have to use the Sinclair hex type to get ogive measurments for .204, that would mean manufactures are using different size holes in their comparitors - that makes no sense . . .

What COAL measurements are you using?
In my first loads, my COAL was just under 2.300" and I was able get ogive to case head measurements on both Nosler 32gr VT and 39gr Sierra BK. When I checked the ogive to case head on the factory Hornady 32gr V-Max, the comparitor bottomed out against the case mouth. I just loaded more Sierra 3...

Why are Sierra's loads lower than others?
I'm getting ready to load 39gr Blitzking over H4895. Sierra recomends 24.1 grains to 26.5 grains. Hodgden doesn't list a 39gr bullet but for the 40gr bullet weight it lists 26.0 - 27.7C for H4895. On Trent's data file for H4895 there's 27.3, 27.7, 27.5, 26.9 and for whatever reason a 23.2 (maybe a t...

Last year I bought a Swarovski 3-9x36 for my new Thompson Center muzzleloader and I know what you're seeing when you look thru yours. Congratulations.

Is this why the 39gr Blitzking is so accuarate?
When first deciding on the .204 Ruger, I had read online that it shoots better "off the lands" and even posted a question here about it - http://www.204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8541 . So far I've only reloaded 32gr Nosler Varmint Tip and 39gr Sierra Blitzking and after going...

Re: What rangefinder for 500 yd Vermin ?
I have a Leica 1200 range finder (7x) and have found that it is almost useless when shooting Prairie Dogs at most ranges due to the mounds being so flat to the ground as there is so little reflective surface... Usually I will try to find a sizable rock or other object to gain a reasonable estimatio...

What other powders for 32 VT and 39 BK?
For loading the Nosler 32 VT and the 39 Sierra BK, I have Varget left over from loading .243 plus I picked up some H322 as well. I'll probably stay with these two bullets but was wondering if I picked up another powder, is there one that works for both bullets? I was wanting to try some RL-10X but t...
