Re: new gun

That's awful tempting Rick....I'm still pricing around a few local Dealers closer to where I live and I'm going to sell our Rossi Youth Rifle with the 3-Barrel Combo before I get another Rifle?I passed up the used Savage .204 in the bull barrel, that one was way too heavy and cumbersome to carry and ...

Re: new gun

Hey Melvin...would You reccomend the American or the Varmint Rilfe?I have to do a lot of walking up and down hills, hollers and what not...is the Varmint too heavy to be packing around and is it going to be that much better or an accurate Rifle than the American?...Sorry about all the questions, but I...

Re: new gun

Ok I went back and checked some misc numbers...this is off the CZ-USA Site itself. CZ-USA American 5.9 lbs $699.00 CZ-USA Varmint 7.8 lbs $691.00 Side Note: I checked Budsgunshop out and they listed the CZ-American at 6.34 lbs...which one to believe? The American is actually $8.00 higher than the He...

Re: new gun

I wondered about getting the heavy Barrel in the CZ-Varmint...You think it would be that much better to get one in the heavier barrel? What does it mean to "Cut and Re-Crown" a barrel...and why would You do that? :duh: :chin: Rick...I'd love to get a better more expensive Rifle....but with...

Re: new gun

I actually bought a box of Hornady 40 grain V-max bullets to shoot out of the Savage Model 10 Bull Barrel .204 and ended up only putting a few shells thru it the Owner let me have while trying out the Rifle....so I have the whole box of new shells un-shot!They cost around $16.95 + tax a box of 20 sh...

Re: new gun

I've been looking at the CZ-USA 527 American in the .204 also,so far the best price I found for a brand new one in the box was $619.00 + tax.I'm going to check with a few local Dealers and a couple that are around 30-50 miles away for more pricing to see if they can beat that price? :chin:

Re: Varmint 30-06??

This was accounts from a few Hunters I have talked with about shooting the BT bullets...I'll go a step further and re-sight my Browning .270 WSM with the 130 grain Winchester Ballistic Tip bullets and see what effect they have on Coyotes this coming year and possibly take out a Deer with the same sa...

Re: Varmint 30-06??

I'm sure if You would shot the Ballistic Tip bullets in a 30-06 or even the .270 WSM it would do some pretty good damage on a Coyote,Fox, or Bobcat...and a Deer for that matter? I know a few Guys that actually shot Ballistic-Tip bullets when Deer Hunting....that would not be ideal in my opinio...

Re: Varmint 30-06??

Several years ago I shot a Coyote at about 150 yards with my Remington 30-06...I'm thinking I used 180 grain bullets back then for Deer and it was the only available Rifle I had to reach out and smack that Coyote?Any ways...I aimed at the Coyote when he turned broadside and fired my Model 742 semi-a...
