Re: 405 yard cow elk with 30-06
Thanks for sharing the story and photo, we love that. And it is amazing in this day and age, by many that the old war horse can still take game, as it has for a long time. Most would say it just can not hold up to that chore when you could or need to use a 300 super zapper magnum.

Re: New Forum Title?
I believe every soldier, no matter the group, is a rifleman. Navy and all learned to handle and shoot rifles and other weapons. Then there were the snipers, that went beyond the norm and used different tactics, for special duty. They all should be shown respect and thanks. My family has had Army, Ma...

Re: Future of the forum
Well, I have not seen a forum naming contest posted yet, but if it were, my entry would be a very simple " The 20 Caliber Club" . What say, some of you other members ?

Re: New Forum Title?
Yes it is hunting, mainly small to medium sized varmints. So, the good old 204 Ruger is right at home. Sure, all of us have other calibers, larger, for larger game and even some real tricked out bench rifles and handguns, for target shooting. But the forum, I believe, was aimed at the 204 Ruger, by ...

The old 30-30 cartridge strikes again. Love the old style rifles, levers just look great. Thanks for the story, photos and those meals look great.

Re: Christmas 2022
My neck of the woods, N.E. corner of Commie California is just a normal winter time. Out temps run from a low of below zero to a high, during the day of around 24-34 above, from around Dec to end of Jan, every year. So nothing new to us, just another normal winter time in the sierras. :D ( The major...

Re: New Forum Title?
Great Idea. I am presently working on a CX 527 with a barrel I bought from a member of this site, it is in 20 VTT and so far. is coming along very well and shooting nicely. Still working on a couple loads too really tighten up the grouping. Will post some photos, at a later date, when I have time to...

Re: New gun today.
I guess since you are using cheap ( as you say) 223 ammo, this is a 223 Rem. From what you showed as to bullet holes prior to and also after the new rings, the shots seem to be stringing vertically. I would check your barrel channel and see if, as the barrel heats, it is not touching somewhere. If s...
