Re: HAS ANYONE EVER BUILT A NIGHT SCOPE

That might do it. You could, also, try camera shops for adapter rings to fit the scope.

Re: HAS ANYONE EVER BUILT A NIGHT SCOPE

Don't see why it wouldn't be. The hard part would be finding an adapter to couple the scope and monocular.

What monocular are you going to use. You've sparked my interest.

Re: PROBLEMS WITH EXCEEDING COL of 2.260

It's going to vary with your chamber. For Joe it works out at 2.350 - 2.355. For me, using a 40gr Vmax it's 2.980 measured from base to ogive using a Hornady comparator (comparator body is part of the measurement). Measuring from base to bullet tip (not accurate) is about 2.375" To answer your ...

Re: trimming .204 brass**help**

Ran in to the same problem you did. I like the Lee trimmer, so I found a Lee in a caliber that was close enough in diameter with a long enough shank and turned it down to fit the .204. Honed the pin down so I get case length of 2.840". Can't remember the caliber I used....sorry.

Re: Why boat tail or flat base?

inKyfromSD -

I have some 32 gr & 39 gr SBKs that my rifle spits out cock-eyed. Can't get 'em to shoot worth a darn. Vmax and Noslers it loves.

Wanna trade?

Re: Not much mention H322 for 204

I've seen a lot of posts early on with guys using 322. I think a lot of us like to experiment with different powders and that's all it is. Good powder from what I've read. Used to use H335 and found it very accurate but more temp sensitive than I wanted. Now, I'm playing around with H4895 and 8208XB...

Re: .204 Ruger accuracy

Nice shooting! :wtg: Love the 8208xbr. Sierras not so much. For whatever reason, they keyhole; both 32gr and 39gr. Ran an OCW on both across the charge band. Nearly every hole was elongated or just plain sideways. Yet, if I shoot Vmax or Noslers, they're fine. :duh: A charge of around 26.6 gr. of ei...

Re: Bullets

My Savage is a 1-12 twist and the Noslers are looking good. Haven't had time to really ring 'em out, yet. Right in the middle of my testing, my old scope lost its zero. Reticle wasn't stable. Should have known something was wrong with it because loads I'd tested before were not working out any more....

Re: cracked case mouths

Had some Hornady factory ammo that wasn't up to snuff, too. Only it wasn't the brass. It was the primers. Had punch through on 3 rounds. No harm done. Sent 'em back to Hornady. They said it was a bad lot of primers and sent me a new box of shells. Mixed results, yup. Unless you're willing to pay pre...

Re: Bullets

More testing to do with the Noslers. They cost more than the Hornadys but when I measure a batch from base to ogive, I get as much as +/- .005" with the Hornadys and Sierra. The Noslers run +/- .001 consistently.

Re: Bullets

Just ran some tests on the SBKs - 39gr & 32gr. Figure this one out; using H4895 and running the load gamut of 26.2 - 27.4 gr for the 39s and 27.4 -28.8 gr for the 32s, nearly every group showed signs of instability. Elongated holes and just plain ol' sideways keyholes. But, with 40gr and 32 gr N...
