Re: 204 Ruger and 338 Lapua – The Sublime to the Ridiculous
Tokimini........................I agree the 338LM is MUCH large than 204R. Just my 02 on the .338LM your loading for invest in Hogdon H-1000 & Retumbo powder and 250/300 grn sierra mk bullets and have fun. Later Ray P Retumbo is what I've been using with 280gr Sierras. We took it to a 1000 yard...

Welcome Onebreath280. You made the right choice getting the Shilen 1-9 twist. I put one on my Remington 700 and the accuracy is phenomenal, especially with the 39 gr BlitzKings. It doesn't care for the lighter weight bullets though.

Re: 204 Ruger and 338 Lapua – The Sublime to the Ridiculous
Well said. I did my proving in the ring, and if the young bucks make fun on my little 204 compared to their cannons I remind them of that. That usually shuts them up pretty quick.RAMOS wrote:One good thing about aging, a guy just does not feel like he has to "prove" much!

204 Ruger and 338 Lapua – The Sublime to the Ridiculous
My son and his buddy belong to a 1000 yard range in Pennsylvania. The buddy just got a Savage 110 in 338 Lapua Magnum just to one up my son's 300 WSM and I got nominated for reloading duties. Putting the 338 round next to the 204 is almost comical. The Lapua looks like an artillery shell. Frankly I ...

One recent Aussie politician had it right. Any of our Aussie brethren correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he said if you move to Australia we expect you to put Australia first, not where you were born and we speak English. You want to live with us learn our language, don't expect us to learn your...

Re: 32GR OR 39GR ?
What is the twist of your barrel? Factory 204 barrels are usually 12 twist and shoot the 32s very well. If you have a faster twist barrel like a 9 the 32s might not stabilize. I have a 9 twist barrel. Sometimes I can get half inch 5 shot groups with the 32s at 100 yards. Other times only one shot in...

Re: NEW BRASS PREP
I have never had a problem neck sizing new Win brass, but I have had problems with new Hornady brass. On some of the rounds it was very tough to close the bolt. I thought the shoulders might need to be bumped back so I full length resized them and they worked fine after that. I would full length siz...
