I have a Remington 700 SPS in 204 that shots the Hornady factory loaded 40gr Vmax very accurately. I'm going to reaload both the 40gr Vmax and Sierra 39Gr BK using IMR 8208, which was the powder recommended by a Hodgdon rep.

Silverfox, I appreciate the advice. I am definitely going to start my loads below the suggested max amount and watch carefully for any signs of over pressurization.

I have an SPS in 204 Ruger and I love it. On an average day I get 3/8" groups ay 100 yards. On a good day I get clover leafs.
