Re: I've yet to meet a....

My favorite is my trusty beat up old Swiss army knife that rarely leaves my pocket. I also have 5 or 6 Japanese knives and swords I recieved as gifts from my Sensei for taking over his school when he was on vacation.

Re: finally got out to the range

204_Au, I'm using IMR 8208XBR. I think I'll give the 4895 or Reloader 10X a try.

Re: finally got out to the range

This might be a dumb question, but I'm a newb to reloading so I'll ask it anyway. How do I measure to see how far off the lands I am?

finally got out to the range

I finally got out to the range last night to do some load testing and to my surprise my gun (Remington 700 SPS) can't shoot 39gr Blitz Kings worth spit. I would have needed a yard stick to measure the groups. It did much better with the 40gr Vmax. At 100 yards I got a group of .805" which is di...

Re: Am I wrong...........

I had a problem a little over a year ago with Hornady factory ammo in my Remington 700 in 204 Ruger. They got some bad brass and a round basically blew up in my gun trashing the bolt. Hornady had me send my gun back to Remington and paid for the repair with no questions asked. About 2 weeks after I ...

Sierra Club & the Forest Service vs Wyoming ranchers

My father sent me this in an email and I thought it was so funny I had to share it. Sheep ranchers in Wyoming are having big problems with coyotes and instead of shooting and trapping the Sierra Club & the Forest Service want to use a more humane method of population control. Their idea was to l...

Re: compressed loads

Hotshot, I'm working up some loads for my Remington 700 in 204 Ruger using 8208. I'm loading both 39 gr BKs and 40 gr Vmax. What load gives you the best accuracy?

Re: reloading rooms/benches

Here is the bench my son and I just built with my Remington 700SPS in 204 Ruger sitting on it. We rabbeted all the joints so it's rock solid. We're loading for my gun and my son's Savage in 300WSM.

Re: Hornady LNL powder measure

Thanks again Ryutzy. I was hoping being .1 grain off would be considered acceptable. With any luck I'll be able to get out this weekend and try my first loads.

Re: Hornady LNL powder measure

I did some more playing around with my powder measure last night. I disassembled it, washed it thoroughly with dish soap and let it air dry. I then did a test run of 25 loads being very consistant in how I operated the powder measure. The first was way off compared the the others, .8 of a grain, but...

Hornady LNL powder measure

My son and I just started reloading with the Hornady LNL Classic kit and every thing went well except the powder measure. I completely disassembled it and cleaned it as directed but we had trouble getting it to measure consistantly. It worked fairly well with the IMR 8208 I was using for my 204 but ...

Re: Hornady 45 Gr. sp

I tried the factory loads in my 204. I got better accuracy with the 40 gr Vmax.
