Re: CFE223 anyone?
Tokimini you are right they are the v-max with a different tip. But a box of 500 for like $54, got to have it. It is just about the same price as the Midway Dogtown's. Midsouthshooters.com is going to sell them when they are released. They are taking orders now thou. Wow $54 for 500! You're right, ...

Re: Question about the Berger 40gr Varmint BT
Whoa - I loaded some 39gr SBK and thought they grouped better than the 32gr Noslers. Howver, the rest I was using at the time wasn't the most stable so I want to try again with my new setup. But I was ready to buy some 40gr Bergers but your post gives me pause. Are the Bergers really that bad? Than...

Re: Question about the Berger 40gr Varmint BT
I tried the 40gr Berger BTHPs using both Reloder 10X and 8208XBR and was disappointed with the results. I got much tighter groups using 40gr Vmaxs or 39 gr BlitzKings.

Re: CFE223 anyone?
Darius, I was interested in the Zmax rounds so I asked my local gunshop if they were going to carry them and he said no. He thought they were only offering them as factory loaded rounds, and he said they were V Maxs with a different colored tip. Not a new bullet, just marketing BS.

Re: factory hornady powder
I read someplace its was a special blended powder that includes a decoppering agent. I pulled a 45 gr Hornady 204 factory round apart and the powder looks and smells just like the new Hodgdon CFE 223. I haven't shot any of it yet but I have 40 rounds loaded. The stuff meters great.

Re: 39 gr blitz kings trouble grouping
I've had good luck with both 8208XBR and Reloder 10X with 39gr BKs. As Joe O said try tweaking your COAL. My rifle's sweet spot is 2.306 inches. Anything more or less the groups get bigger.

Re: accuracy vs velocity
Rick, since joining this forum I have saved myself countless time and aggravation by following the recommendations of people much more knowledgeable about reloading than myself, and you are probably at the top of the heap in that department, so I take your opinion very seriously. Over time I have go...

accuracy vs velocity
I've noticed that a lot of members seemed to be very concerned with the velocity of their handloads. On one thread even though the author was pleased with the groups he was getting he said he was still going to up the load to try and get more speed. I don't own a cronograph and have no plans to get ...

Brad, Biekirch's has excellent pricing on everything. On the rare occasions I check with places like Midway Biekirch's is always less.

Re: How much brass do you buy?
Bow Shot, Biekirch's have really good pricing on 204 Winchester brass. I've been getting bags of 100 like they're packs of chewing gum. They also have the new CFE 223 powder in stock.
